'Ghost of a Tale' (ALL) Gets Xbox One And PS4 Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 18, 2019 @ 4:12 p.m. PST

Ghost of a Tale is an action-RPG game in which you play as Tilo, a mouse and minstrel thrown into a perilous adventure.

Ghost of a tale takes place in a medieval world populated only by animals, and puts an emphasis on immersion and exploration. It features stealth elements, disguises, conversations with allies and enemies, and quests.

You’ll be able to explore the secrets of Dwindling Heights Keep and navigate its dangers. Tilo is not much of a fighter, so stealth and nimbleness are your allies when confronted with enemies twice your size. Talk to the characters you meet and leave no stone unturned in your quest to find Merra, your true love…

Initially planned for release on Xbox One in 2018 with a PS4 version planned for 2019, Ghost Of A Tale was then delayed for a simultaneous release on both platforms in Feb. 2019, but now we have to wait a few more weeks until March 12, 2019.

To start, we’ve discovered that coordinating a synchronized release between us (a microscopic studio), a console-porting studio, Microsoft and Sony is quite a challenge and as a result we’ve had to push the console release date by a couple of weeks. We were hoping to release before the end of the month but we’ve finally set the official date to Tuesday March 12th.

That was necessary in order to get review codes before the release day and incidentally it will also mark the anniversary of the PC release.

The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X will benefit from improved textures and higher resolution (compared to the basic PS4 and Xbox One). Framerate will still target 30fps on all platforms.

Let me also remind you that if you want to get Ghost of a Tale on Xbox One you can still do so at a lower price ($19.99) right now while the game is still in Preview. The price will get aligned with the PC and PS4 versions (at $24.99) when the final version gets released.

Key Features:

  • Explore a medieval world as a minstrel mouse
  • Sneaky – You can creep through the world almost silently, avoiding the patrolling rats and other predators. But even the sneakiest of mice can be spotted! When an enemy gives chase you must move quickly to find a safe place to hide. Sneaking makes Tilo more aware of what’s around him, and the dangers that may lie ahead: Enemies’ footsteps can be heard more keenly, while chests, barrels and other items reveal themselves as possible hiding places for the adventurous mouse.
  • Smart - Tilo’s world holds many secrets and puzzles for you to solve. You’ll be using your brain and keen powers of observation to make your way past the perils that await you. Sometimes, when all seems lost, you can still count on Tilo’s trusted lute to get out of trouble.
  • Curious - Tilo’s body language will alert you to useful items nearby that might otherwise go unnoticed. If you look well enough, you’ll find a variety of hats – as all mice do, Tilo has a love for hats – and other articles of clothing scattered around the world which he can wear. Sometimes, dressing in the right disguise will help you to move unseen through the world, and explore seemingly inaccessible areas.
  • Agile - Mice are famous for being exceptionally nimble! When confronted by danger, you can scamper swiftly away or leap out of reach. You can even use a sharp burst of speed to outpace Tilo’s foes. Skillfully use the environment to slow your enemies or lure them into traps! The choice is yours…
  • A non-violent game were you're not required to kill anyone

Ghost Of A Tale is currently available on PC through Steam or GOG.com, coming to PS4 and Xbox One on March 12, 2019 for $24.99.
