Warface is a fast-paced shooter crammed with cooperative and competitive action, stacks of game modes and a wealth of weapons for players to get their hands on. Gamers can choose to play as Riflemen, Medics, Snipers or Engineers as they work together and attempt to uproot the Blackwood military faction in Co-op play, or choose their side and lock horns with fellow players in versus battles. Success depends on teamwork and selecting the right mix of soldier classes, each with unique loadouts and special abilities.
Along with a collection of competitive game modes, in which players pursue dominance for glory and top rankings, the game features cooperative and narrative driven raid missions. Players enlist with the Warface military faction and join forces with four friends to take down the highly tactical and AI controlled Blackwood enemy forces.
Warface development team, led by the studio’s Creative Director Michael Khaimzon, is forming its own independent development company, Blackwood Games. Blackwood will take over all further development of Warface franchise, including all previously announced updates.
“The development team of Warface has always inspired us. To go independent in order to enable a closer partnership with the game’s publisher is a strategic move, which we all agree is best for the future of the game. At the same time, this reorganization will allow us to focus on our own core IPs and long-term plans,” said Crytek’s CEO Avni Yerli.
“It was a tough decision to leave Crytek after all these years, but sometimes you need change to evolve. It’s very important for us to focus on developing Warface in a way that lives up to players’ expectations,” said Michael Khaimzon, Head of Blackwood. “We have kept the development team intact, and their expertise will allow us to move forward with our plans and ideas. Yet we’re very thankful to Crytek for all the great years together and for their commendable support of this move”.
Key Features:
- Plant the Bomb:Teamwork is the key to detonation in this mode. One team tries to plant the bomb in the enemy base, whilst the other team tries to defuse it or wipe out the attacking forces. Both teams alternate between sides, whilst only one will achieve planting perfection.
- Battle Royale:The PvP mode reflects the very essence of Warface. It is a fast-paced and very dynamic experience from the first-person perspective. Armed with melee from the very start, players quickly go through a looting phase, diving straight into battle. There are over 70 different weapon models available in the mode with each action packed game lasting between five and seven minutes.
- Storm: In this mode, one team is put on the offensive and aims to capture three strategic points in succession. The other team must stand and defend their ground, while the teams switch sides when the timer runs out. On average these games last longer and will appeal to players preferring strategy.
