Set in 2045, a major blackout has plunged the world’s major metropolitan areas into darkness and chaos. Crackdown 3 brings super-powered Agents to New Providence, a futuristic open-world city ripe for exploration, now on the brink of collapse at the hands of the corrupt criminal network TerraNova, Incorporated. Join Commander Jaxon and The Agency to take on the crime lords of New Providence using your tools of mayhem and chaos, like the singularity gun that shoots off a black hole and pulls destruction into its path for maximum impact.
In the original Crackdown players all over the world spent countless hours running, driving, and leaping around Pacific City. Whether they were taking down gangs or collecting those sweet agility orbs, fans couldn’t get enough. Now, the hyper-powered world of Crackdown is back in stunning fashion with an all-new Crackdown experience.
Crackdown 3’s all-new multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone, where environmental destruction is your secret weapon. In Wrecking Zone, two teams of five, hyper-agile Agents tear down the opposition with their superpowered skills and an arsenal of boom-tastic weapons and equipment in fully destructible battle arenas.
As the team moves full steam toward launch, we will be conducting a technical test of Wrecking Zone, the fully-destructible Azure cloud-powered multiplayer mode, to ensure a smooth experience for everyone on February 15.
Wrecking Zone is built on brand-new technology that utilizes the cloud in ways never been done before, enabling players the ability to destroy entire buildings and cause mayhem on an unprecedented scale. We’ve been playing and simulating games internally every day, but nothing beats real-world data and feedback from you.
That’s why we’re opening-up Wrecking Zone for a Technical Test with the Xbox Insider community, who have been at the forefront of helping us make sure everything clicks together. This is not a beta – we’re looking to gather as much information, feedback and bug reports as possible.
The Wrecking Zone Technical Test will begin Thursday, February 7 with installation beginning at 9 a.m. PST/5 p.m. UTC and the first playtests beginning at 12 p.m. PST/8 p.m. UTC, exclusively for Xbox Insiders. Members of the Xbox Insider Program will play the Agent Hunter game mode on the Blackout Zone map, where combatants score points by taking out opposing Agents and collecting their Badges. Additional playtest sessions for the weekend will be announced in the Xbox Insider Hub, Discord and on the Crackdown 3 Facebook and Twitter!
If you’re interested in becoming an Xbox Insider to participate in the Wrecking Zone Technical Test, simply download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Store on your dashboard. From there, launch the app, head to the Insider Content section and download the Wrecking Zone: Technical Test. Don’t forget to give us your feedback and report issues you may encounter during the Technical Test and take the survey in the Insider Hub once it’s over!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- On your Xbox One console or Windows 10 PC, sign in and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app. You’ll be able to register and begin installing the game starting Thursday, February 7th, at 9 a.m. PST. Install early so you’ll be prepared for the playtest times listed below! (Search for Xbox Insider Hub in the Store to install if you don’t already have it).
- Navigate to Insider content > Games > Wrecking Zone: Technical Test.
- Select Join.
- Wait for the registration to complete (Pending will switch to Manage), and you’ll be redirected to the Store where you can install Crackdown 3: Wrecking Zone!
- Launch the game during the available playtest times and select “Agent Hunter” to queue up for a multiplayer match.
- Don’t forget to give us your feedback and report issues you may encounter during the Technical Test and take the survey in the Xbox Insider Hub once it’s over.

Crackdown 3 will launch Feb. 15, 2019 for the Xbox One with Xbox Play Anywhere support — buy it once and play it on both console and Windows 10.
