In the year 2030, the first flying cars have been invented and the World Federation Racing Championship is preparing for a new era of racing with hybrid cars. To give teams time to adjust to this fundamental transition, the Federation issues a season’s pause. Four of the world’s leading hybrid electric car manufacturers get together and decide to bridge this gap by organizing “Xenon”, a once in a lifetime championship for rookie drivers to help test the new technology with car prototypes running on a combination of electricity and Xenon gas.
The Federation does not approve of this rogue championship and their missing endorsement means that the usual international race tracks cannot be used. Therefore, the gravity defying racing action takes place in the bustling streets of cities worldwide, such as Shanghai in China and Miami in the USA. There are also races at more serene places; the Cote d’Azur in France and Lake Louise in Canada.
Two weeks after the launch of Xenon Racer, SOEDESCO and 3DClouds have revealed their post-release plans for the game. There will be free content updates for all platforms as a token of appreciation for the players. Besides adding this additional content, the developers continue to work hard on further improving the game.
Two new locations will be added to Xenon Racer, as well as multiple customization parts and two additional racing teams with new cars. The free content will be introduced in three different updates, the first update is happening at the beginning of May. More detailed information regarding the free extra content will be revealed at a later time.
In an era of flying vehicles, a last one-off championship for traditional wheeled vehicles has been organised, with cutting edge electric cars boosted by Xenon gas. Rushing through treacherous turns as bright neon lights flash by, players drift through the futuristic streets of cities like Tokyo and Dubai. Resisting massive G-forces, they’ll have to demand the utmost of technology to race at breakneck speeds in the pursuit of eternal victory.
In Xenon Racer, players can race against the AI in Fast Race and Elimination Mode, and unlock new cars, parts and maps in the singleplayer Championship. To practice their racing skills and to break personal records, players can hit the tracks by themselves in Time Attack, Checkpoint Attack and Free Mode. There’s also a local split screen mode and an online multiplayer to challenge others to a race.
