'Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus' Heretek Expansion Announced For This Summer - Screens

by Rainier on May 15, 2019 @ 8:27 a.m. PDT

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is a turn-based tactical game where you take control of one of the most technologically advanced armies in the Imperium - The Adeptus Mechanicus.

Mechanicus puts you in control of an array of Adeptus Mechanicus forces for the first time ever as you lead your priests and troops on a tactical quest to salvage ancient technologies from the mysterious Necron tomb of the planet Silva Tenebris. As Magos Dominus Faustinius of Mars, your every decision will shape the missions ahead and have far reaching consequences for you and your team.

In-game, Mechanicus will enable you to overcome these ‘human weaknesses’ to upgrade your troops with augments that will replace their human limbs with bionics and mechadendrites. These will provide mechanical and tactical advantages as you progress throughout the game.

Your every decision will shape the missions ahead and ultimately decide the fate of the troops under your command. However, choose your path carefully - the Imperium depends on it.

The name of the Omnissiah has been forsaken! Corruption and heresy grow from deep within the Adeptus Mechanicus and civil unrest hides tales of mistrust and betrayal.

Kasedo Games announce Heretek, the expansion to its turn-based tactical game, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus.

Opening a whole new plot line, Heretek exposes the dark underbelly of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction like never before. Brand new narrative events have been handcrafted once again by Ben Counter, allowing players to uncover what has brought civil unrest to The Caestus Metalican during its campaign at Silva Tenebris.

Take on frighteningly familiar foes, a cohort of heretek Tech-Priests that have changed their beliefs and forsaken the name of the Omnissiah. Can you, Magos Dominus Faustinius, manage both an assault on the Necrons while being corrupted from within?

Key Features:

  • New Discipline to utilise: Unlock the Xenarite. A discipline that is specialised in using xenotech, a largely forbidden practice for those that follow the Omnissiah! Plus all new augments for you to customise the appearance of your Tech-Priest.
  • 5 new missions: Experience five new missions based in the Ark Mechanicus, each with a new delivery system for narrative. The choices you make will impact the battle for that mission.
  • New weapons to discover: Xeno-altered weapons open up devastating possibilities, coupled with support tech that opens up new play styles.
  • Two new Troops to command: Sicarian Infiltrators and Ruststalkers are now available to unlock. Pass through Necron and Heretek limbs alike with the Transonic Blades of the Ruststalker or take the stealthy route with the Infiltrators and spring an unexpected ambush.
  • New but familiar enemies to face: Face your fellow brother Tech-Priests in an internal conflict over Necron xenotech while also holding back the wakening of the Necrons.
  • New mission environment: Experience combat inside an Ark Mechanicus for the first time in Warhammer 40,000 history.
The Heretek Expansion is scheduled for a Summer 2019 release on Windows, Mac & Linux.

Key Features:

  • Augment: Flesh is weak! Upgrade your Tech-Priests limbs with mechanical augments made from the blessed metals of the Omnissiah. Customize your team with hundreds of possibilities, creating a squad to suit your playstyle.
  • Difficult Decisions: Make tough decisions that will forge the future from your Ark Mechanicus, The Caestus Metalican, and send you towards alternate endings for a truly unique playthrough.
  • Experience the Noosphere: Use the Adeptus Mechanicus’ evolved human cognition to scan unexplored tombs for valuable data in order to gain a tactical advantage over your enemy.
  • The Library: A compelling story written by Black Library author, Ben Counter, specifically crafted to fit the unique personality of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is in development for PC, Mac & Linux, scheduled for a late 2018 release.
