Set in the year 2354, when humanity has spread to the stars, the vast, lawless frontier created by the rapid expansion has become uncontrollable. Civil unrest becomes too widespread for the G.S.O.P (Global Syndicate of Planets) to control. Joining forces with the galaxies seven largest corporations, they create a new type of game show called Overstep. A fight to the death, league-based system, Overstep is where the corporations battle to become top of the leader boards. 

Using new advancements to artificial intelligence, the combatants in this new show use robots that can contain a human conscious. Called the Turing Automaton, these robots allow for the wars to rage with zero human casualties. Pro Gamers from all over the galaxy are sought to control these new machines and entertain the vast populations scattered across a thousand planets. 

And this is where you, the player comes in. Take control of an automaton, choose your corporation and take center stage in a new sport for the modern citizen.

Imagine Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but as a third person shooter without a skateboard. Or multiplayer Sunset Overdrive! Overstep is all about combining acrobatic tricks with weapon mastery, shooting at opponents while jumping from grinding a rail, into a wall-run. A future sport of two 3-robot teams, entertaining the crowd on exceptionally financed arenas.

In a universe that is obnoxiously commercialized and run by gigantic corporations, the Overstep arenas are the highest tier of entertainment, the best ad space in the galaxy and the most profitable way for the corps to show off their combat gear.

The corporations are the centerpiece of the Overstep universe.

Overstep is a fast paced 3 versus 3 players third person shooter, that offers refreshing gameplay through acrobatic movement that’s combined with combat. Overstep is a free-to-play game with cosmetic in-app-purchases like skins and acrobatic animations. After early access, we plan to start working on modular robot parts.

The robot is the centerpiece of the player experience. Level up, customize, blitz through higher ranks!

  • Prestige – The players’ current standing with the corporations. Players earn and lose prestige through winning and losing matches.
  • Challenges – A set of always creative goals that allow the player to earn experience points and credits for actions they perform in game.
  • Experience – The player earns experience for most of the actions they perform in Overstep. Experience is used for matchmaking; gating content such as advanced animations; and player bragging rights.
  • The ultimate goal is for a player to help their Corporation win the league or win the cup, to gain lavish rewards.

Overstep is in development for PC (Steam), scheduled for release in 2019.
