F1 2019 will be released during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend and, unlike previous iterations, ahead of the British, German and Hungarian Grands Prix. F1 2019 has been in development for nearly two years, making it the most ambitious release in franchise history.
Working in partnership with F1, for the first time ever, players will be able to get behind the wheel of a 2019 regulation car specifically designed in collaboration with F1’s technical team, headed up by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds. The car, which will be available in Multiplayer, adheres to the 2019 regulations and comes with a range of livery designs offering players a new level of personalization. The 2019 F1 Team liveries will also feature on the car in early marketing materials, but will be replaced by the final Team cars ahead of the game's release.
Having established itself as one of the highest-rated racing franchises of all time, F1 2019 will build on the success of previous iterations and deliver an experience that rivals the quality and production values of its real-life race counterpart and includes several new game features which will be revealed in the coming months.
As the Monaco Grand Prix is very nearly here, we thought we’d celebrate by showing you the work we’ve been doing on the Circuit de Monaco in F1 2019.
Yes, it’s absolutely time for some Monaco Grand Prix screenshots, featuring the final cars.
“After the big visual improvements across the board in F1 2018, this year the art team has focussed on a number of circuits, including Monaco which is the flagship event in the F1® calendar. We have increased the building fidelity with higher resolution geometry and a lot of the previously textured elements now have a full geometry pass, which is perfectly demonstrated in turn one heading up to the casino. We’ve increased object placement and crowd density which provides more interest and realism and brings greater depth so the player gets a better sense of the atmosphere during the race weekend. From a surface perspective, new scan-based tarmac adds to the realism by giving better light response on the track surface. We are incredibly proud of the work the team has put in and we know our players will notice and appreciate the difference when they play F1® 2019 in a month’s time,” commented F1 2019 Art Director Stuart Campbell.
F1 2019 will ship a full two months earlier into the F1 season and launch worldwide for PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 28, 2019.
