City Of Brass is an Arabian Nights themed 1st person rogue-lite where you become a daring thief in a punishing, procedurally generated quest filled with treasure, traps and ghoulish foes.

Leaping from the pages of the Arabian Nights, adventure awaits in the accursed City of Brass – a place of legend beneath the sand, filled with danger and reward. Infested with mischievous spirits and deadly traps, its shifting streets are brimming with the wealth of a nation.

Set in a mythological metropolis undone by its love of gold, City of Brass follows a cunning thief on a heist to obtain fabled treasure hidden in the heart of the opulent ruins. Armed with a bullwhip and blade, players will lash-and-slash their way through the legions of damned souls that haunt this legendary labyrinth while pilfering relics and other riches contained within its walls.

The rhythmic interplay between these tools gives the experience a fluid feeling as melee bleeds into movement. The versatile whip is used not only to disarm, trip, and stun enemies but allows players to swing to safety or obtain objects that otherwise would be out of reach. The whip also has the ability to turn City of Brass’ dangerous environment against itself. Players can wield it to manipulate hazards from a safe distance and spring deadly traps on unsuspecting enemies.

With procedurally-generated environments that see the labyrinthine streets shift on every run, players will need to be tenacious and make good use of their knowledge from past runs to press further into the stronghold if they want to claim the city’s ultimate prize and perhaps even reverse the curse.

To ensure the challenge is tailored to all players, City of Brass features a Blessings & Burdens system, which can make the experience much easier or do quite the opposite. These optional modifiers can tweak everything from player health and damage output to item costs, ensuring City of Brass is tuned everyone’s needs and desires. This system also extends to Mixer, Microsoft’s next generation streaming service, where viewers can interact with live-streamers by griefing them with additional enemy spawns or helping out with extra gold or healing items.

Once City Of Brass, the current free game on the Epic Games Store, has run its course it will be up to Kingdom New Lands, which will gratis starting on June 6 until June 13, 2019.

Be brave, ruler, and fight to the bitter end, lest these New Lands conquer you instead.

Kingdom is a minimalistic micro strategy game with modern retro aesthetics and an ambient soundtrack.

Players take control of a monarch struggling to build their kingdom from nothing by exploring the world, recruit loyal subjects and defend from the nightly Greed attacks.

Key Features:

  • Collect treasure to increase your score, plunder chests for weapon and armor upgrades or powerful relics – but make it to the exit in time or face death by dervish…
  • Incarcerated within the city, and most are friendly… Some will barter gear, upgrades, secrets, unlocks or protections in return for loot. Use one of three wishes to unlock a powerful benefit, or for a king’s ransom, buy a genie’s freedom in return for help in the final battle.
  • When your sword just isn’t enough, get creative: smash your enemies with explosive vases, blind them with a brick to the face, or force them into traps.
  • The city is filled with wretched spirits of all flavors, all with unique behaviors, all with the singular character defect that they want to kill you.
  • The algorithms that create each level are tweaked to generate a logically laid out cityscape of interconnected chambers, courtyards and corridors.
  • The rhythmic interplay of blade and lash has been carefully tuned along with sprinting, crouching, sliding, leaping and vaulting to give a fluid, balanced and natural feel to the movement and melee.
  • For the ultimate test, experienced players can encumber themselves with Divine Burdens, global modifiers that change enemy abilities, spawn behaviors or multiply environmental hazards.
  • No two playthroughs are ever the same: play, die, and play again, each time using what you’ve learned to get further. Are you tenacious enough to reach the heart of the City of Brass?

City of Brass is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC.
