In Out of The Hat you will follow the adventures of a little girl, forced to work for a maleficent magician in an old circus full of mysteries. You will face the dangers of the woods and other unusual places, but also experience the magic that this adventure brings with it.

Just like with magic, nothing is what it seems: the world you will explore hides one big secret and pushing deeper and deeper in this adventure you will realise that something does not add up. Magic has changed this world, almost as if it had been shaped by someone's fears.

A journey inspired by fairy tales and archetypal nightmares, where you will rise from dark events or succumb to them; where you will have to face your monsters if you hope to overcome them.

Developer Not a Number has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Out of The Hat, looking for $55,968.

We have stretch goals planned (like the exciting prospective of bringing Out of the Hat to Nintendo Switch!) but need to meet our funding goal first so spread the word so we can reach the funding goal and reveal the next ones!

The magic hat you stole from the Magician before you fled the Circus will become your best ally - by throwing it and teleporting out of it you will have a chance of escaping the many bizarre creatures who populate the woods and the other areas in the game.  Becoming a skillful trickster is your only hope of survival.

Evil trees, eye brambles and other malevolent plants and creatures aren't just ornamental either: fears and feelings shaped this world and, if you survive, you might discover who did it and why. 

In Out of the Hat you will explore a creepy and fantastic world that hides secrets and mysteries you will have to find.

In The Circus you will witness how the negative influence of the Magician brought the place to ruin: attractions and rides will be decrepit and falling apart. The circus tent will be full of random objects and broken parts of what once seemed to be a beautiful and happy place. 

Once you have come out of the circus you will enter The Woods, where the uncontaminated nature hides long forgotten secrets. Here, the harsh conditions have transformed flowers and trees into mortal dangers, ready to spring as you blindly progress through the forest. 

Venture in The Orphanage where the little girl used to live before joining the Circus. Her nightmares will come to life, challenging you both physically and mentally, but also giving you the chance to overcome her deepest fears in this disturbing place. Here the gameplay will be enriched with stealth mechanics that will make the challenge even more difficult but also more fun.

As you progress through the game, you will learn new abilities related to the hat, which will enhance your skillset but also add more challenges based on dexterity and timing.
