'Project Aether: First Contact' Launches Kickstarter Campaign - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on June 7, 2019 @ 8:55 a.m. PDT

A fast-paced twin-stick shooter, Project Aether puts you in the pilot's seat of the prototype mecha Aether as you face off against a robotic alien force bent on the destruction of mankind.

As a threat from beyond looms over the solar system, Project Aether: First Contact is ready to deploy! Take control of the AETHER prototype mech in a variety of environments to combat this alien threat.

Fight the alien threat across 9 unique levels, each with a powerful boss to defeat.

Customize your mech's loadout with an assortment of powerful weapons, including the rapid fire assault rifle, high impact railgun, concentrated laser beam, or EMP Burst system, allowing you to detonate weakened enemies in a devastating chain reaction.

Choose your own approach to combat. Pick your foes off with ranged weapons, or get in close with devastating sword strikes.

Use the enemy forces to your advantage! As you damage foes they become primed for a powerful EMP blast, which will destroy them and any ships caught in the blast.

Project Aether: First Contact also features survival and boss rush modes.

Sleepy Spider Studios have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their fast paced twin-stick shooter Project Aether: First Contact, looking to raise $3,743.

Our goal is to give you a game with fluid combat mechanics that lets you choose your own approach to combat. Project Aether encourages aggressive play, rewarding you for getting up close and personal with the beam saber and close range EMP Burst, but also equips the player with a wide arsenal of deadly long range weapons used to decimate foes from afar. We've carefully tailored each of our nine levels to provide a unique mechanic and challenge, and each enemy provides a unique challenge to help the waves feel different and fresh.

"We believe Project Aether is a really fun game and we're excited to get the chance to get it in the hands of players," says Ryan Premrl, Game Director. "We hope our blend of traditional shooter elements and exciting melee gameplay will give players a fun and memorable experience."

Fans interested in giving Project Aether a spin before they commit can try out the playable demo.

Project Aether: First Contact is in development for PC, scheduled for late 2019.
