'Mistover' (ALL) Demo Available On Switch, PS4 and PC

by Rainier on Sept. 25, 2019 @ 2:18 p.m. PDT

Mistover is a dungeon crawling RPG with gameplay that will challenge even the most hardcore of hardcore players.

Featuring a striking art style that draws from bot Western and Asian influences, Mistover is a dungeon crawler RPG with a strategy focused turn-based combat system. Players are charged with managing and leading a Corps crew on an ever-changing dungeon expedition through the Pillar of Despair, unraveling the mysteries of the Vortex to find a cure to the corrupting properties of the Mist that threaten the realm.

The Mist does not like to be challenged. The lands of Mistover were peaceful until one day it was beset by a Vortex, Pillar of Despair. This Vortex brought dreadful creatures that laid waste to the kingdoms of humanity. The Kingdom of Arta is the last bastion of civilization and the gathering place for adventurers who gather in Corps seeking to rid their lands of these devastating threats once and for all.

Think of it as a cross between the mechanics of Darkest Dungeon and the thrilling dungeon crawling experiences found in Etrian Odyssey. With eight classes, players will be able to take on Mistover in a role and combat style that suits them the best. Classes include Witch, Shadow Blade, Grim Reaper, Paladin, Ronin, Sister, Werewolf, and Onmyouji. Each one comes with its own unique set of skills and abilities so that no two game sessions are the same. Additionally, such a wide variety of classes offers nearly infinite replayability.

Mistover isn’t just any dungeon romp. It provides suspenseful adventure in the harshest of conditions. Each procedurally generated dungeon provides players with an array of challenges at every turn from a plethora of vicious monsters to deadly traps to poisonous food. Survival comes at the cost of wondering whether the next step or the next tasty morsel will mean one’s doom as death is permanent in Mistover. But never fear! There’s always a new recruit coming in on the next wagon to be added to your party of adventurers.

A new demo is available today on Nintendo Switch (Nintendo eShop), PC (via Steam), and PS4 (PlayStation Store).

This second demo for the upcoming roguelike, dungeon crawler RPG set for full release on October 10, 2019, introduces the lore of the Pillar of Despair and the deadly mist, with two playable stages, six of eight playable classes, the addition of customizable Crew options, and no time limit.

The new expanded demo takes Expedition Corps on their first steps of the expedition. This second demo allows players to control party formation, buy items and manage inventory before entering the first dungeon “Misty Forest”. This first dungeon will be the training grounds for the Expedition Corps before entering deeper into its lair, a passageway to worlds existing in alternate dimensions.

Before venturing into the ominous mist that awaits, the Duke Henrich of your new home Arta, will task you to join the “Missing ones,” a group of those who have lost their memory and take on the expeditions under the guide of Lenni, a sassy soldier.

Key Features:

  • Over 40-hours of expeditions through five distinct regions.
  • Procedurally generated dungeons deliver new expedition experiences every time. Adjust your strategy to the ever-changing dungeons.
