Wizards of the Coast's new Digital Games Studio is creating a Magic experience with the full rules and ongoing content support for new card sets, just like the original card game. The game is designed and built for digital gamers without compromising Magic's core gameplay. Every element of the game design is focused on an engaging and dynamic experience, true to authentic Magic, to provide players and viewers fast-paced, exciting, and easy-to-follow matches.

In Magic: The Gathering Arena players can jump right into Quick and Competitive Play using one of the five carefully crafted pre-built decks earned in the tutorial and can customize their own decks from an expansive library of current Magic cards. The game is free to download and lets players battle for rewards including in-game currency, cards, and booster packs. Players can also earn an additional five pre-built decks by completing daily quests.

Today Wizards of the Coast announced some exciting news – Magic: The Gathering will be officially launching on September 26th alongside the official release of Throne of Eldraine.

Starting now, players can jump into Brawl – one of the most highly-anticipated modes for Magic: The Gathering Arena – and get a sneak preview of the upcoming Throne of Eldraine card set before it’s released. 

Then on September 26, after a successful Open Beta that saw over 1 billion games played, MTG Arena will officially launch alongside Throne of Eldraine. Players can visit an exciting new plane where Grimms’ Fairy Tales and Arthurian legends collide for high fantasy and incredible adventure.

• Special Event: Eldraine Courtside Brawl brings the 1v1 Brawl format to MTG Arena until September 9.
• Sneak Preview: Play and Earn cards from Throne of Eldraine weeks before official release!
