Blood of Steel is a free-to-play PvP MOBA game where you command your army and wage war against other players online using historical generals in authentic and dynamic locations.

Blood of Steel is a PvP MOBA strategy game set throughout the Middle Ages where you lead legions to conquer cities, expand your territory and ultimately rule the world.

Players assume control of legendary commanders from world history including Joan of Arc, Julius Cesar and Alexander the Great, each with their own distinct weapons and personalities, as you lead their troops to victory. Take control of multiple troop types from archers, calvary riders, swordsmen, spearmen, crossbowmen and more to gain the upper hand on the battlefield. Terrain plays an important part in warfare; players can choose from multiple maps comprising of open plains, lush grasslands, snowy fields, city streets and many other locales. Clever use of this terrain and management of a dynamic weather system incorporating variables such as rain and snow are key to victory.

Battles are conducted from a third-person perspective on arena-like maps where two teams of either 5-v-5, 7-v-7 or 10-v-10 players duke it out with one another, with each individual player allowed to lead up to 40 AI soldiers. Every troop type can be controlled by players, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, giving players the ability to strategize together with their unit types. As well as the  legion-based warfare, players can duel one-on-one in PvP battles in the Heroes Arena with direct control over 4 attack and block directions, defense-breaks, rolls, sidesteps, charge attacks and heavy attacks, combining to form an engaging fighting system.

Chinese-based development studio Evolution Studio is pleased to announce one of many new content updates once its free-to-play PvP MOBA Blood of Steel has launched.

This first update, coming soon after release, introduces two heroes and a new customization feature called the Star System. The Star System allows players to personalise the outfits of their chosen generals in a variety of outfits with a contemporary twist. New items can be either purchased in the Blood of Steel store using the in-game currency, or by getting tokens by completing daily quests.

In addition to the Star System, 2 new heroes are available. The "Eternal Emperor" Ying Zheng was the founder of the Qin dynasty and ruled as the first emperor of a unified China. Equipped in the black Qin iron eagle armor, Ying is the only general in Blood of Steel that uses a chariot, mounted with bladed wheels, capable of mowing down enemies. Accompanying him on the chariot are the Emperor’s bodyguards, also wearing the infamous black armour, firing arrows at all enemies foolish enough to be in their path.

Zhen Ji, also known as “Luo Shen”, was the first wife of Cao Pi, the first ruler of the state of Cao Wei in the Three Kingdoms period. She was believed to have been the reincarnation of the "Goddess of the River Luo'', a deity in ancient China. Zhen Ji leads a deadly squad of crossbow assassins on behalf of the leader of the Han empire, Emperor Hanwu. Zhen Ji and her squad are masters at setting up deadly ambushes and also excel at equipment manipulation.

Blood of Steel is constantly refining itself to create the ultimate modern wartime strategy experience. With the new Star System players can further personalise their experience in a fun and unique way,” said Cao, Game Director of YC Games. “Ying Zheng and Zhen Ji add new gameplay elements adding to the already deep battle mechanics of the game. We’re excited to announce the many updates we have planned for the game, each improving the playing experience.”

Players can try out the Closed Beta demo of Blood of Steel through Steam.

Blood of Steel will launch on PC (Steam) on February 19, 2020.
