Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse and hostile open world entirely playable solo or in up to four-player co-op. Players will discover Auroa, a mysterious island where the most technically advanced facilities meet wild and untamed nature. Home to drone creators, tech giant Skell Technology, Auroa has fallen into the wrong hands and all contact has been lost.
The Wolves, a lethal ex–US Military unit of former Ghosts gone rogue, have taken over the island. Led by Nomad’s ex-brother-in-arms, Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, they have reprogrammed Skell’s drones into killing machines and are ready to use them, no matter the casualties. Nomad and the Ghosts are sent in on a recon mission, but their helicopters are shot down. Injured, without support, and hunted down, players will live an intense military experience as they fight to survive, take down the Wolves and regain control of Auroa.
Steep slopes, accumulating injuries, and fatigue are new challenges for players to tackle as they test their survival skills in the varied terrains of Auroa. To overcome adversity, players will enjoy total freedom to accomplish their missions and have plenty of tactical options and tools at their disposal, including a set of new military features. They will be able to carry enemies and teammates’ bodies, blend into their environment with prone camo and set up camp with teammates in the bivouac to manage equipment, change classes, and fine-tune their strategies.
They will also be able to choose among thousands of customization combinations to create their perfect Ghost, and keep their character and progression through the game in both the main campaign and Player-versus-player (PvP), available at launch.
Ubisoft announced a partnership with Studio Canal that will bring the Terminator to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint with the release of a free event featuring multiple mission settings, enemies and dialogues inspired from the original 1984 The Terminator movie. The event will be available for all players starting tomorrow 9am UTC on the Xbox One, PS4, PC, UPLAY+ and Stadia.
Entirely playable in solo or co-op, the Terminator Live Event will have players gear up and face an unexpected threat from the future in a new story arc taking place in a new location on Auroa.
Two main narrative missions will be introduced, during which players will have to rescue and partner with Rasa Aldwin, a woman coming from the future, in the hope of stopping the Terminators’ plans. These two missions will be available starting January 29 and February 1, respectively, and will remain in-game once the event ends. In addition, players will be able to face the challenging T-800 cyborgs in daily warfare and interception missions.
Upon completing missions during the live event, January 29 to February 6, players will be rewarded with exclusive items inspired by The Terminator, including the movie’s iconic punk outfit, as well as exclusive new Terminator weapons and vehicles. Besides the rewards granted by completing the event’s missions, players will be able to further customize their Ghosts with two Terminator-inspired packs, allowing players to fully transform into the Terminator or Kyle Reese in-game.
The Terminator Live Event comes as part of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s Episode I, and follows the launch of the first raid in franchise history as well as a series of free updates that brought major improvements to the game. The game will continue to receive regular updates in the coming months, in line with the commitment made in the Moving Forward letter to expand and improve the game based on player feedback.
At the launch of Google Stadia, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will support the Stream Connect feature, which allows players to display the game of up to three Co-Op teammates on their screen.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will include a robust post-launch content support plan, with regular updates after launch. New story arcs, classes and features will be continuously added, and for the first time in a Ghost Recon game, a new type of endgame content: raids.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, as well the Google Stadia gaming platform.
