Players choose a warband, build decks and face off in action-packed, turn-based combat, aiming to win by scoring the most Glory through defeating enemy fighters and fulfilling objectives.
Warhammer Underworlds Games Workshop’s ‘Ultimate Competitive Miniatures Game’ has been growing in popularity since its launch in October 2017. The tabletop franchise has released two major instalment boxed sets (Shadespire and Nightvault) and more than a dozen Warband expansion packs so far, and with a thriving community and tournament scene, the game shows no signs of slowing down.
The game’s deckbuilding elements enable a high level of strategy, while the short game time (30-60 minutes) makes it a great option for fans of both miniatures wargames and board games.
"Early Access is a great platform to release into,” said Creative Director, Neil Rennison. “After three successful closed betas the game is looking and playing great, but we’re still willing to take on community feedback to help refine an amazing Warhammer Underworlds experience long-term.”
The Early Access release of the game will include four warbands, their respective cards plus a host of universal cards to let players modify their decks. Players will also get access to four exclusive Warband skins only available during the Early Access period.
Nik Pantis, Producer follows up: “As an added bonus, part of the translation to a digital format enables us to release universal cards for free at regular intervals. This gives players new ways to diversify their decks before diving back into competitive ranked play.”
New content will be distributed in two ways:
- All players will receive continuous, free universal card releases at regular intervals
- Extra Warband DLC expansions will be available at a future date for an additional cost
Warhammer Underworlds: Online is available through Steam Early Access for $29.99 USD and is available to play in English, Russian, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
