'Nippon Marathon' (ALL) Donates Profits To Fight Australian Bushfires

by Rainier on Jan. 6, 2020 @ 8:34 a.m. PST

Stretch your muscles and embark upon the ultimate marathon of Japan in a raucous ragdoll party multiplayer racer where anything can happen.

San! Ni! Ichi! Hajime!!!

Hurdle barrels, outrun Shiba Inu and dive out of the paths of bicycles - all while chucking fruit at your opponents and dashing across planks precariously balanced over waterfalls - in an unreal experience that must be played to be believed.

Story Mode allows you to choose and follow the journey of the four main characters from pre-Nippon Marathon to post-Nippon Marathon in a mix of races and visual novel with numerous chapters - one of them is Snuguru Maestro! Find out about his ancestry, where his love for watermelons comes from and most importantly: how in the world is he half-human, half-dog?!

Nippon Marathon is billed as Micro Machines meets Takeshi’s Castle – a hell for leather physics-heavy race across Japan. Slip into your Narwhal Onesie, Lobster Suit, School Uniform or… er… Dog Head and charge through locations across Japan!

Stay at the front of the pack to make your competitors disappear at the end of the screen and gain stars - then the race resets to the last checkpoint until the finish line where the racer with the most stars wins! Easy, right? Absolutely, if it weren't for throwable fruits, shopping carts, inflatable pineapples, collapsing tracks, clingy Shiba Inus, water melon rains and many more hilarious hazards!

Onion Soup Interactive today announced it will donate all profits for one week from sales of Nippon Marathon on Steam to charity. Profit from the sales between January 7th - 14th will be donated. Onion Soup Interactive hopes this will provide vital support for the wildlife charities and responders bravely risking their lives to keep Australia’s wildlife safe from the bushfires.

Onion Soup Interactive are conscious of the damage that climate change is having on the planet and realise how precious the world truly is.

“It’s sad to see what’s happening in Australia. It’s sad to see homes destroyed, livelihoods ruined and animals dying from the fires.” says Amy Madin. “We must protect the wildlife, with fires destroying lands the size of Scotland, they cannot survive without our help.”

The profits raised will be donated to the NSW Wildfire Information Rescue And Education Service (WIRES), who “actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same."

Please visit the Nippon Marathon Steam Page to purchase the game and support a great cause.

Alternatively, donate directly to WIRES’ via their webpage.
