'Hyper Scape' (ALL) Season 2 Begins Next Week, Brings New Content & Features - Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 1, 2020 @ 6:00 p.m. PDT

Hyper Scape is a free-to-play fast-paced urban battle royale FPS that takes place in the distant future of 2054, where up to 100 Contenders descend upon the virtual city of Neo-Arcadia to engage in action-packed and fast-paced matches to be crowned champion.

Hyper Scape was designed from the ground up as an intense, vertical and fast-paced battle royale experience. Three-player squads and solo players can dive into the futuristic virtual city of Neo- Arcadia to engage in dynamic firefights, quickly transitioning from narrow streets to open rooftops and deadly interiors.

Hyper Scape introduces Hacks, abilities that players can loot in the world the same way they do weapons. Hacks grant offensive and defensive capabilities to suit all playstyles. Laying down a mine, seeking an enemy, protecting the squad with a big wall or turning invisible to sneak up on opponents are just a few examples of the Hacks players can combine and swap effortlessly. All Hacks and weapons can be upgraded through the Fusion mechanic to produce more powerful iterations of the pre-existing item.

Hyper Scape innovates and twists the battle royale formula in many ways, such as the unpredictable Decay which dissolves the map of Neo-Arcadia into different patterns, or the unique Echo mechanic that keeps players active in the battle even when they’re down. At the end of a Hyper Scape match, the climatic showdown phase starts when the Hyper Scape crown spawns on the map. Players have two different ways to claim victory, either by picking up and carrying the crown for 45 seconds or by being the last player or squad standing.

Ubisoft announced that Season 2 of Hyper Scape will release next week on October 6, 2020.

This Season, called “The Aftermath,” will introduce a new weapon, a new hack, new game modes, a new Battle Pass, and much more to discover. Prior to Season 2, players will get the chance to participate in Project Tower, a special event coming to Hyper Scape on October 4 @ from 11am to 12pm PST. Since the beginning of Season One, glitches have been found in the streets of Neo-Arcadia, hinting at something out of control in the Hyper Scape. It’s now time for Prisma Dimensions to confront this threat head on.

New Content Coming With Season 2

During this season, players will get the chance to discover a new district and try a new weapon, the Atrax, which bursts sticky explosives that detonate after a certain period of time. During the season will also come a new limited-time hack coming mid-season, Platform, which allows players to deploy a horizontal platform useful for navigation and offering new creative opportunities.

Over the course of Season 2 Hyper Scape will also offer several brand new game modes, including Crown Rush Duo and Floor is Lava. The Platform hack will be key for Floor is Lava, where the ground is transformed into a deadly magma. On top of those new modes, Season 2 will also see the return of Crown Rush, Faction War and Turbo Mode, with more to be revealed later in the season.

New Game Features

New for Season 2, a ranking system will be available, giving players a way to see how they fare amongst other contenders. The rank will be formed based on the ten best matches of each player – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond or Champion. Only matches played in Crown Rush Squad will count for the rank.

As part of the rotating Limited-Timed Modes, Crown Rush Solo will be available during the Season with a new twist, Second Chance. Second Chance gives players the opportunity to redeploy into the battle when they are eliminated early in the game.

Starting with Season 2, players will get a Daily Gift every day they play Hyper Scape. The Daily Gift can include different items, such as Battle Points or cosmetics. A new 100-Tier free and premium Battle Pass will also be launched, including brand new exclusive Champion outfits, weapon skins, deployment pods and more.

New Comic

Yesterday, Hyper Scape and Dark Horse Comics published the second issue of the Hyper Scape comic, “HYPER SCAPE #1 The First Principle Part 2.” “HYPER SCAPE #1 The First Principle Part 2” is the second issue in a free digital series made up of twelve ten-page comics to be released monthly. It is available now on the Hyper Scape website as well Dark Horse Digital, Comixology, and other digital comics websites.

Those are just a couple of the new features soon available in Hyper Scape, with lots more to discover when Season 2 launches on October 6th.

Hyper Scape is fun to play and rewarding to watch. Developed in partnership with Twitch, the Hyper Scape Crowncast Twitch extension will entertain viewers by letting them impact the game in real time, creating unprecedented interaction between streamers and their fans. Viewers will also have a real-time impact on the battle by voting on events that affect all contenders within a match, such as low gravity or infinite ammo.

Hyper Scape Season One also includes new customization items through its Battle Pass. This Battle Pass offers a free and a premium track and features 100 tiers of exclusive cosmetic items to unlock during the Season. The premium track of the Battle Pass is available for 950 Bitcrowns, the in-game currency. Players get Bitcrowns by simply playing the game, or by purchasing packs of Bitcrowns with real money on the Ubisoft or first party stores. Similar to the Open Beta, viewers can progress their Battle Pass simply by watching Hyper Scape streams on Twitch with the Hyper Scape Crowncast extension enabled. Additional customization items will be available through the in-game shop.

Hyper Scape is available for PC, Xbox One and PS4, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow at a later time.
