Featuring over 140 musical tracks and 20 characters from throughout the series, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is a rhythm-action game that provides fans with an unmissable opportunity to relive their favorite moments like never before.

In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, a whole host of familiar Disney friends, foes and adventures await. Players will experience the magic of musical exploration by traversing through worlds packed with rhythm-action challenges as they collect and master over 140 songs from the KINGDOM HEARTS series along the way. Players will journey through iconic Disney worlds, and join forces with recognizable Disney characters whilst enjoying unforgettable Kingdom Hearts series music, alongside timeless tracks from Disney’s cinematic classics.

Whether alone, or with friends and family via local co-op and online multiplayer, players will need to defeat tough enemies and bosses to achieve the top ranks. Through three different play styles, gamers of all ages can choose their level of challenge depending on whether they want to enjoy the songs and adventure without complicated controls, or showcase their skills with complex combos to put on the ultimate performance.

Fans excited for the release of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, can also look forward to the Kingdom Hearts III original soundtrack, which will feature many of the unforgettable and timeless tracks from the critically-acclaimed Kingdom Hearts III and will be available globally in Fall 2020.

Square Enix revealed that a playable demo for Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One on October 14, 2020.

Included are six tracks from the game’s massive library of over 140 songs, collected from across the breadth of the Kingdom Hearts portfolio of games and composed by legendary composer Yoko Shimomura. The six tracks are:

  • Welcome to Wonderland
  • Hand in Hand
  • The Rustling Forest
  • Wave of Darkness I
  • Sinister Shadows
  • All for One

The first four tracks can be played solo, in a mode called “Field Battle.” You’ll play as “Team Classic,” comprised of Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and attack enemies to the beat of the music. A quick tutorial eases you into the controls, so you’ll know exactly which buttons to press to attack, jump, and soar across the levels.

The other two tracks listed above can be played with a friend in local co-op, with one player controlling Sora and the other taking control of Riku.

The demo showcases an array of different difficulty levels from beginner to standard to proud for the greatest challenge. You’ll be able to further customize your play experience via “play styles.” Each of the tracks can be played via basic game mode, that breaks up different actions – attack, jump/float, and special into different buttons, as explained in the tutorial. For a more relaxing experience, you can select “One button” mode to map every action to a single button. And for experienced rhythm gamers who want the highest challenge, a “performer” mode is available that includes extra targets on each track mapped to even more buttons on the controller.

The demo is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the content available in Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory; the full game will include other gameplay options like a versus mode, a massive music library of over 140 tracks, multiple Kingdom Hearts worlds to explore, additional character teams, a memory theater, and a wide range of collectibles and unlocks.

This ultimate celebration of music and adventure marks the Kingdom Hearts series’ first appearance on the Nintendo Switch.

Pre-orders are available starting today from the SQUARE ENIX store, the Nintendo eShop, Microsoft Store and other select retailers. Those who purchase for the PS4 from the PlayStation store for a limited time by December 31st, 2020 will also receive the Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory theme.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One on November 13, 2020.
