Onion Soup Interactive announced a seismic shift in the development of Nippon Marathon 2 with plans to bring online matchmaking, PS4 support and custom character skins to the physics based racer.

Play just for fun in Casual Versus or try to be the best in the world by improving your rank in Competitive Versus. Players  looking for more silliness will be glad to know the Go-Go Trolley Bowling and L.O.B.S.T.E.R party games are making a return with online capability too.

The developers aim to create as much variety in the title as possible. The in-game shop will be stocked full of custom items and character skins for players to unlock and the personalisation of characters will add to the humor of the Nippon Marathon experience.

The two-person team has been inundated with calls to bring Nippon Marathon 2 to Playstation following the first game's success on PS+ Japan earlier this year. Fans will be happy to know that Onion Soup Interactive has added support for the platform to its development schedule.

Onion Soup Interactive is currently running a kickstarter campaign for Nippon Marathon 2, looking to raise $41,147.
