'Stellaris' (ALL) Necroids Species Pack Planned For Next Week - Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 21, 2020 @ 2:06 p.m. PDT

Stellaris turns your eyes to the stars in a science fiction strategy game that will be about more than just building empires in the skies.

For millennia our race has developed, explored and battled for control of a planet. Now we turn our eyes beyond our own solar system, to other stars in our galaxy. New planets, new discoveries, maybe even new civilizations await us. And Paradox Development Studio, the masters of grand strategy, will be your guides on this new voyage.

With a dynamic decision system and a heavy emphasis on exploration and science teams, Stellaris gives you much more to research than bigger lasers or stronger hulls – though you’ll need those too. Space is very big, and your first step will be getting a grasp of just what is around you and how it can be best used for the benefit of your civilization.

With the Necroids Species Pack, Stellaris gamers will learn that death is not the end, but rather the beginning of their intergalactic journey as new changes reincarnate playthroughs of Stellaris for long time players, as well as bringing new undeath to established playtypes. To live amongst the Necroids, embracing death is not only encouraged, it’s required!

Necroids will leave players with goosebumps after experiencing a brand new selection of portraits, civics, ship sets and other cosmetics. This pack is for players who aren’t afraid to live their undeath to the fullest, all out on the dark side of the galaxy.

Prepare to meet the Necroids, an intelligent species who believe that death is not the end, but rather the beginning of their journey. Necroids are known to spend their days excitedly studying in preparation for their eventual “transformation” in the Elevation Chamber. New cosmetic changes will reincarnate playthroughs of Stellaris for long time players, while also bringing new life to killer type empires. In total, the Necroids Species Pack includes:

  • 1 New Origin - Necrophage
    • The brand new Necrophage Origin positions gamer-martyrs as a powerful primary species which consumes others within its grasp, blurring the line between cult and empire with three brand new civics:
      • Death Cult: Enables powerful edicts which require the sacrificing of pops
      • Reanimated Armies: Allows the deployment of morality-immune, undead armies
      • Memorialists: Erects monuments to the galaxy’s past, improving planetary stability and honouring tomb worlds
  • 16 new portraits (15 organic, 1 robotic)
  • New ship set
  • New advisor voiceover
  • New city set & diplomacy room
  • New Name lists
  • New building cosmetics
Necroids Species Pack will be available on PC starting October 29, 2020.
