'Apex Legends' (ALL) Season 7 Introduces New Map, Legend And More - Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 27, 2020 @ 12:48 a.m. PDT

Set in the Titanfall universe, Apex Legends is a free to play battle royale game with a cast of unique characters, squad-based gameplay, innovative mechanics and more.

Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players will select from one of eight Legends - each with their own unique abilities and playstyles - and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.

Apex Legends showcases several new genre-leading innovations, starting before players even start the match. Once players are ready to begin, they’ll choose their drop point with the Jumpmaster system, giving each squad full control over exactly where they drop in. Is it smarter to head straight for the most valuable loot and risk early conflict with other teams, or make for one of the outlying areas to plot an attack and let other squads pick each other off?

Respawn has announced that Apex Legends Season 7 - Ascension will arrive on November 4 and has officially revealed the first details of the upcoming season with the introduction of Horizon, the next Legend to make it into the competition, and the third major map, the floating city of Olympus. In an all new Stories from the Outlands trailer, fans of the Apex Games can learn more about Horizon’s journey to the arena and what ultimately drives her to make it out alive while getting a first-look at the city in the clouds.

With her home planet Olympus in the midst of an energy crisis, Horizon and her robotic companion, N.E.W.T., venture to far away lands in search of crystals that can save it. Leaving behind her son for this journey, Horizon ventures into the unknown comforted by the fact that it will save her family and home. With a betrayal preventing the happy ending to her journey, Horizon finds herself home but lost in time as she fights to return to her son.

Season 7 - Ascension brings Horizon to the Outlands along with the next arena in Apex Legends, Olympus.

Olympus is a big place. Cover ground faster with the Trident. Plenty of room for the whole squad!

The innovations don’t stop there as Apex Legends also delivers Respawn Beacons, one-time use locations where defeated teammates can be revived, a contextual Ping communication system that allows players to call out enemies, weapons, locations and more with the push of a button, and an intelligent inventory system which automatically attaches gear and equipment to the appropriate weapons once players pick them up. All together it creates a battle royale experience unlike any other, complete with Respawn’s commitment to top-notch quality and fun.

Apex Legends is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021.
