'Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War' (ALL) Adding Nuketown '84 Map Next Week - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 20, 2020 @ 11:02 a.m. PST

A direct sequel to the original, fan-favorite Black Ops, and set in the early 1980s, Black Ops Cold War, drops players into the depth of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical universe in a gripping experience where nothing is as it seems.

In addition to the story campaign, Black Ops Cold War will bring an arsenal of Cold War weapons and equipment into the next generation of Black Ops Multiplayer combat, and an all-new co-operative gameplay experience with Zombies.

In pure Black Ops style, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fuses elements of 1980s pop culture through a mind-bending conspiracy story, where deception and subterfuge are the norm in the gripping single-player Campaign. In this sequel to the original Call Of Duty: Black Ops, players encounter historic figures and learn hard truths as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, Soviet-era Moscow, and more. As elite operatives, players attempt to stop a plot decades in the making as they follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus, who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Beyond the Campaign, players will bring a wide selection of Cold War weapons and equipment into the next generation of Multiplayer combat and an all-new Zombies experience.

The title features cross-play support across current and next generation systems with cross progression across all modes. Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also offer a Battle Pass system and deliver a steady stream of free post-launch content, including multiplayer maps and modes, Zombies experiences along with a robust schedule of in-game community events.

With Nuketown ’84 set to drop with a bang on November 24, it’s time to crank the hype up to 11 with a free bundle based on this iconic Black Ops map.

Available now in Black Ops Cold War, the Nuketown Weapon Bundle is a 10-item pack that features an absolutely bomb shotgun Weapon Blueprint, a half-dozen mannequin Weapon Charms, and some other items that will help prepare your weapons and profile for the Nuketown ’84 launch. Although this bundle is separate from that map, which is set to be released on November 24 (free for all players!), it’s a must-have for Operators who want to make an explosive statement in Multiplayer, Zombies, or in the next evolution of Warzone™ when Season One begins on December 10.

How to Redeem

As a special thank you to everyone who played Black Ops Cold War since its release, every player who logged in from when the game launched on November 13 to 10 a.m. PT on November 20 will automatically receive the Nuketown Weapon Bundle. You’ll find all its items waiting for you in-game by November 20 at 12 p.m. PT, well ahead of Nuketown ’84’s debut on November 24.

The Nuketown Weapon Bundle will also be included with every purchase of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War from now until December 4 at 2 a.m. PT, making this Black Friday season a great time to jump into the next generation of global combat if you have yet to experience it. So long as you log in and play the game before December 4, you’ll receive this bundle on top of any edition-specific rewards included with your purchase.

What’s Inside the Nuketown Weapon Bundle

Prepare to infiltrate Nuketown ’84 (or any operation in Multiplayer or Zombies) with these 10 items:

  • “Last Stop” Epic Shotgun Blueprint – With this Weapon Blueprint, any enemy who dares to challenge you in close quarters will know it’s the end of the road. This configuration includes a 21.6” Paratrooper Barrel, a 6 RND Tube Magazine, a Milstop Reflex Optic, and a Commando Assembly Stock. When combined, these attachments give the shotgun a faster fire rate, better damage range, increased ammo capacity, slightly quicker speed when aiming and shooting, and a clearer sight picture — all the ingredients needed for a great secondary weapon.
  • Six Weapon Charms – These six mannequin Weapon Charms are a perfect fit for any long-time Nuketown fan. Pick your favorite well-sculpted hunk – “Chad,” “Thad,” or “Vlad” – or a flawless friend – “Karen,” “Sharon,” and “Bobbi McDaren” – to give your favorite weapon more personality.
  • “Test Subjects” Sticker – Let your enemies know you’re ready to go nuclear with the “Test Subjects” sticker, which can be slapped onto most weapons in the Gunsmith.
  • “Nuketown Legend” Emblem and “Omnibus” Calling Card – Spruce up your player profile with some classic Nuketown imagery through the “Nuketown Legend” Emblem and “Omnibus” Calling Card.

Note: when Warzone transitions on December 10 at the beginning of Season One, all these items will be available for use across your loadouts and profile.

Log into Black Ops Cold War today, or purchase the game, to get the Nuketown Weapon Bundle before its half-life is over.

Don’t Forget to Support Vets with the Call of Duty Endowment Challenger Pack

Want two Weapon Blueprints, a Double Weapon XP token, and more personalization items, all while helping veterans in the US and UK find high-quality jobs?

The Call of Duty Endowment Challenger Pack is still available for purchase in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and includes “The Stripe” tactical rifle and “The Standard Issue” pistol Weapon Blueprints that will get you prepped for combat in Multiplayer and Zombies. On December 10, these items will also be available in Warzone, with the pack itself being available for purchase in that game as well.

Activision’s net proceeds from sales of this pack will support the efforts of the Call of Duty Endowment, which helps veterans find high-quality careers by supporting groups that prepare them for the job market, and by raising awareness of the value veterans bring to the workplace.

The pack is only available up until $5 million USD is raised for this cause, so act now and help support veterans across the United States and United Kingdom.

Execute the mission.

Black Ops Cold War will also support and build on the hit, free-to-play experience Call Of Duty: Warzone. Black Ops Cold War includes shared progression features with Warzone, adding brand new inventory items that can be used in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Warzone players will still have access to all of their Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare content, including Operators and Weapon Blueprints previously earned.

Starting today, fans who pre-order or pre-purchase select digital versions of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will instantly unlock digital rewards, including Black Ops Operator Frank Woods for play in Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare now, and receive early access to the Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Open Beta. Open Beta dates to be announced soon. For further pre-order and pre-purchase information and the full list of digital retail options and next generation bundle offerings, please visit here.
