'Stellaris: Console Edition' (ALL) MegaCorp Expansion Gets Release Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 17, 2020 @ 3:10 p.m. PST

Stellaris: Console Edition turns your eyes to the stars in a science fiction strategy game that will be about more than just building empires in the skies.

For millennia our race has developed, explored and battled for control of a planet. Now we turn our eyes beyond our own solar system, to other stars in our galaxy. New planets, new discoveries, maybe even new civilizations await us. And Paradox Development Studio, the masters of grand strategy, will be your guides on this new voyage.

With a dynamic decision system and a heavy emphasis on exploration and science teams, Stellaris gives you much more to research than bigger lasers or stronger hulls – though you’ll need those too. Space is very big, and your first step will be getting a grasp of just what is around you and how it can be best used for the benefit of your civilization.

Paradox Interactive announced that MegaCorp, the latest addition to Stellaris: Console Edition’s third expansion pass, will be available for budding titans of industry starting January 26, 2021.

Usher in an era of prosperity and profit on a galactic scale.

In this economy-focused expansion, players become the CEO of a powerful corporate empire set on expanding operations across the stars. MegaCorp introduces a revolutionary new way to conduct business on a galactic scale by seamlessly synergizing new markets and city planets with state-of-the-art citizen solutions and more marketable human capital.

Exciting new innovations included in MegaCorp include:

  • Corporate Culture: Bigwigs and C-suite execs of a MegaCorp can conduct business on a galaxy-wide scale with a host of new civics. By constructing Branch Offices on planets within empires they have trade agreements with, the MegaCorp can add a portion of the planet’s Trade Value to their own network. Using the new Corporate Authority government type, build a financial powerhouse and dominate galactic trade.
  • City World: With Ecumenopolis, players can increase the population density of core worlds to proportions that are “too big to fail”, eventually creating a megacity spanning multiple planets.
  • Caravaneer Fleets: Watch out for those pesky Caravaneers, nomadic traders who walk the fine line between salesman and scammer. These slippery wheelers-and-dealers stay aloof from galactic politics and always have a sales trick up their sleeve. Expect surprises when these master barterers wander through your space or when you visit their home systems.
  • More Megastructures: The finance department has approved the budget for your own glorious Matter Decompressor, Mega-Art Installation or Strategic Coordination Center! You’ve got the green light to use these to acquire new scaling capabilities for your megalopolis.
  • Galactic Slave Market:Acquire and dispose of labor on an industrial scale. Grant them freedom or keep them as livestock - it’s up to you!
  • VIP Status Comes with its Perks: Keep your economy competitive in a cutthroat galaxy with additional Ascension perks.
  • Advisors and music:3 Additional Advisors and 4 music tracks to help you conquer the Galaxy.

Thousands of planets populate procedurally generated star systems giving you the largest possible theatre for performing the emergent stories that Paradox has become famous for. Customize your ships, encounter unique randomly generated races, and participate in advanced diplomacy that would make Picard look like an amateur.

And all in a beautiful and evocative star map unmatched by anything we’ve made before.

  • Behold the enormity of space with procedurally generated galaxies and an untold number of planets to explore.
  • Encounter a myriad of wild, quirky, and dangerous alien races who may prove to be crucial trade partners or conquering forces hellbent on enslaving your civilization.
  • Take on strategic space warfare and resource management to ensure the survival and advancement of your empire.
  • Explore scientific anomalies and uncover technological wonders throughout the galaxy to utilize them toward your own gains.
  • Govern your own fledgling empire and secure your power and agenda through manipulating internal policies, factions, traditions and more.

Stellaris is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
