'The Division 2' (ALL) Season 4 And Title Update 12 Planned For Next Week, Details

by Rainier on Dec. 2, 2020 @ 4:16 p.m. PST

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is a shooter RPG with campaign, co-op, and PvP modes that offers more variety in missions and challenges, new progression systems with twists and surprises, and fresh innovations that offer new ways to play.

Seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains.
For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. – the most heavily protected city on earth – is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse. If Washington, D.C., is lost, then the nation falls. As a Division agent who has been in the field for seven months, you and your team are the last hope to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online open world, action shooter RPG experience set in a collapsing and fractured Washington, D.C. This rich new setting combines a wide variety of beautiful, iconic, and realistic environments where the player will experience the series' trademark for authenticity in world building, rich RPG systems, and fast-paced action like never before. Play solo or co-op with a team of up to four players to complete a wide range of activities, from the main campaign and adversarial PvP matches to the Dark Zone – where anything can happen.

Today, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 announced that Season 4 will feature former Division Agent Faye Lau as the Prime Target.

Season 4 is part of the upcoming Title Update 12, available December 8 and includes new weapons and gear, the optimization station, updates to The Summit and quality of life improvements. Season 4 and updates to The Summit are available for all Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion owners while the game improvements in Title Update 12 will be available for all Division 2 players.

Below is a full breakdown for Title Update 12:

Season 4 and the Return of Faye Lau (Warlords of New York Players): The Division has learned that Faye Lau, Division commander-turned rogue, is working together with four ex-Division operatives recruited by Black Tusk, now under her command. However, her motivation to turn on The Division remains a mystery. With Lau leading the rogue cell, the Division suspects a sinister plan that needs to be uncovered. Agents must now engage in the most important manhunt yet, where they must first target the four rogues in order to eliminate the cell, and ultimately get to Lau herself! In the second half of Season 4, players will also see improved frame rates for The Division 2 on next gen consoles. Leagues and Global Events will also continue once TU 12 goes live with new weekly events.

Improvements to The Summit (Warlords of New York Players): When playing The Summit, players will notice:

  • Challenges, a new progression loop in The Summit, will come in two categories – Tactical and Ascent. Completing challenges will earn players a variety of rewards, as well as milestone rewards depending on the overall number of challenges completed. Upon reaching the 100th floor, all completed challenges will reset.
  • New Commendations
  • Guaranteed targeted loot rewards when unlocking a new elevator checkpoint (based on the player’s personal targeted loot selection).
  • A new objective category and increased variation for the existing objectives to improve variety.

New Gear and Weapons (Warlords of New York Players): TU 12 will also include a new variety of rewards, including:

  • Seasonal outfit and gearset: Rigger – Allows Agents to make the most out of their skills. Rigger focuses on faster deployment and lethality.
  • Brand set: Empress International
  • New skill variant: Achilles Pulse – Reveals the enemies’ weak points, allowing Agents to focus on those areas and bring foes down with extra damage.
  • Three new exotics
    • Capacitor assault rifle – Skill-based weapon will add stacks that increment skill damage, while each Skill Tier will grant extra damage to the rifle.
    • Scorpio shotgun – Fast-firing weapon will stack status effects on enemies, starting with poison and ending with additional damage.
    • Waveform holster – Like the Capacitor, Waveform will add stacks to increment skill damage, but in higher quantity and with the addition that it will transfer between the Agent’s skills.
  • Four named items
    • Two named standard weapons
      • Scalpel – Tactical .308 marksman rifle
      • Test Subject – PDR assault rifle
    • Two named gear pieces
      • Battery Pack – Named Empress International backpack
      • Caesar’s Guard – Named Empress International chest piece

Additional Features (Warlords of New York Players): TU 12 will also include the following:

  • Optimization Station: The Recalibration Station will include an additional “Optimization” feature, where players can optimize the stats on their items and view their optimization materials.
  • Global Event Vendor:Players will earn stars by completing Global Event Challenges, which can be spent in the Global Event Vendor. Here, Agents can buy Crafting Caches, Season Caches, Exotic Caches, and more.

Quality of Life Improvements (All Players): Based on player feedback, a number of improvements have been added in TU 12.

  • Players will have the option to wear masks whenever they want (previously, masks were worn in contaminated areas).
  • Inventory size will increase from 100 to 150 for players to store their weapons and gear.
  • Players will be able to pick up the turret skill (previously, they were required to either wait for it to time out or had to manually destroy it, waiting for the subsequent cooldown).
  • The number of loadout slots have been increased by 4 to 16.
  • Improved inventory management will allow players to filter gear mods.

Holiday Event Starting Dec. 8, players will have another chance to acquire the exclusive holiday-themed weapon that shoots … snowballs. Also, new this year, a limited-time Hunter mask will be available at the top of The Summit upon completion.

In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Warlords of New York, Division Agents will go on the ultimate manhunt for Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent who has now gone rogue. Keener, along with his network of Rogue Agents, is now a major threat to the burgeoning rebirth of civilization. To track down Keener, Agents will roam the untamed living open world of Lower Manhattan; a former Dark Zone that was recently hit by a devastating hurricane that hit New York City harder than anywhere else in the US. Agents are tasked to explore new zones, each with iconic locations such as Two Bridges, Chinatown, and Wall Street. To get to Keener, players must take down each of his Rogue Agents.  Each Rogue Agent has their own unique back story and skill – which you gain once you take them down.

After taking the time to hear and gather community feedback, core gameplay enhancements have been implemented across various topics such as build diversity, gear streamlining and even more meaningful loot.

Along with The Division 2 Warlords of New York, Title Update 8 will include an RPG overhaul, allowing players to better read and manage their gear inventory. The UI screen will be updated to always show the roll ranges for each stat on a piece of gear or weapon. The overhaul also includes the return of god rolls, improving readability and helping players make better decisions on the gear’s usefulness to their build. Additionally, players will see a more streamlined gear recalibration system, with item and stat usefulness indicators, as well as permanent attribute and stat storage at the recalibration station. This will allow Agents the flexibility to plan the perfect build.

The existing Dark Zones in The Division 2 are also being revitalized, returning to a simpler rogue mechanic. The focus is on rewarding player-to-player interaction, whether it's fighting against each other or helping a fellow Agent against a tough Rogue player.

In The Division 2 Warlords of New York, the players’ level cap will increase from Level 30 to Level 40, but it doesn’t stop there. The Division 2 Warlords of New York is also introducing an infinite progression system, the SHD level, and 4 new skills that can be used throughout the game. Owners of the expansion will also get access to new gear and new weapons.

Warlords of New York is a narrative-driven expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 and available on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Ubisoft’s subscription service UPLAY+.
