'Fire Emblem Heroes' (ALL) Book V Update Introduces New Characters, Armor And More

by Rainier on Dec. 7, 2020 @ 4:53 p.m. PST

Fire Emblem Heroes is a free-to-start game for mobile devices that reimagines the gameplay of Nintendo’s long-running strategy-RPG series.

Fire Emblem Heroes is an original strategy RPG about two warring kingdoms in a bitter clash. As a summoner, players build their army by calling upon popular Fire Emblem heroes from worlds that span the breadth of the series. Players will wage tactical battles streamlined for on-the-go play and level up a mix of new combatants and legendary heroes. Some familiar hero characters will become allies, while others will become enemy generals.

Players can enjoy the full majesty of tactical role playing on bite-sized maps designed to fit nicely on a smartphone screen, even when playing in short bursts. Players lead their armies with easy touch-and-drag controls, including the ability to attack by simply swiping an ally hero over an enemy. If they manage to defeat every enemy on a given map, victory will be theirs.

The heroes are depicted in new art hand-drawn by a variety of illustrators, and their voices have been newly recorded. Beyond the main story mode, players can engage in other modes to strengthen their army or to compete against others. Free and timely updates will add new characters and content for additional hours of gameplay as well.

Do you hear that energetic whirring in the distance? It’s positively radiating. That’s the sound of Book V kicking into high-gear for the Fire Emblem Heroes game!

The latest update to the Fire Emblem Heroes smartphone saga is arriving tonight, and it’s delivering a blast of steampunk-inspired energy to this classic tale of sword and sorcery. The realm of Niðavellir has discovered a way to fuse magic and science into something they call seiðjárn, and it’s safe to say you’ve never seen a realm like this before in the Fire Emblem Heroes universe!

In addition to some intriguing characters, Book V also introduces new mechanical armor, known as Gullinbursti, which is used by the people of Niðavellir to do battle. If you’re eager to see some of this new content in action, even novice summoners can jump right into Book V’s story. By completing Chapter 1 of Book V, you will also earn a new Mythic Hero for free: Reginn, princess of Niðavellir.

We hope you’ll take advantage of all the Book V-related events and bonuses. If you log in on 10 different days during the active period, you can receive up to 20 orbs. You can also earn Aether Stones by clearing “Book V Begins” quests while they’re active. Aether Stones can be used to unlock new bonus structures which will be added to the Aether Resort. A special castle design themed after the world of Book V will be sent to all summoners, too!

You’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for New Heroes from the Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones game, including Duessel, Caellach, Selena, Knoll and Natasha!

Battles in the game are customized for touch screens and on-the-go play, featuring turn-based strategic battles starring new heroes, as well as classic characters from the Fire Emblem franchise.

Fire Emblem Heroes is available on Android and iOS.
