'Ghost Giant' (PS4) Comes To Oculus Quest Later This Month - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 6, 2020 @ 8:32 a.m. PST

Ghost Giant is a heartfelt puzzle story in VR about trying to keep life together with a little help from a very big friend.

Experience a new puzzle adventure from the studio behind Stick it to the Man, Fe, and Flipping Death. when Ghost Giant releases exclusively on PlayStation VR. It’s thrilling how many different ways there are to tell a story. Novels, movies and games all have their own approach – and with VR, even more unique possibilities have arisen.

In Ghost Giant, you meet young Louis. He lives in an out-of-the-way part of town, where he tends to the family sunflower farm together with his mother. Life isn’t always that easy though, and Louis is incredibly lonely. That is, until you enter his life.

As the player you take on the role of the Ghost Giant. And a giant you are indeed! Use your see-through hands to lift furniture, vehicles and trees. You can even rotate and open entire buildings to reveal the stories going on inside. The picturesque town of Sancourt becomes your own little dollhouse sandbox.

Being a giant is a big advantage when building your friendship with Louis. Along your journey, you help him with all manner of challenges that, at first glance, seem impossible to pull off. While they often involve heavy lifting, your most important role is less physical. It’s that of being a supporting friend for a child in need of some guidance.

Originally released exclusively on PSVR, the touching tale from the developers behind Fe, Stick It to The Man and Flipping Death now makes its debut on Oculus Quest.

Ghost Giant has been written in collaboration with Swedish writer, Sara Bergmark Elfgren, who’s work has been translated into 25 different languages, and is perhaps best known for her Engelsfors Trilogy. This gives players a whole new perspective on VR by pushing the boundaries of physical interaction with emotionally compelling storytelling.

The Ghost Giant physical version features:

  • Dollhouse Town Tinkering – Using the PlayStation®Move Motion controllers, players can peek into, rotate and open individual houses to reveal the stories going on inside as the occupants go about their daily lives;
  • Vibrant Sancourt Setting – Players will explore the harbor, nooks and crannies of the town, Louis' sunflower farm and the local junkyard to solve puzzles. In addition, players can interact with items throughout the world, pulling plants, lifting vehicles, and fully immerse themselves in the tactile experience;
  • Heartfelt, Compelling Story – The sandbox experience is enriched by a sincere story created in collaboration with Swedish writer Sara B Elfgren, well-known for her Engelsfors Trilogy, which has been translated into 25 different languages and even adapted into film;
  • Neighborhood Watch – While Louis is the only character that can see the player, the Ghost Giant can also interact with other residents, leaning in to listen to the locals’ conversations, plucking hats off a passerby’s head, or interacting with the nearby environment to generate a response.

Currently available on PlayStation VR, Ghost Giant is coming to Oculus Quest on February 20, 2020.
