'Neon Abyss' Also Comes To Switch, PS4 and Xbox One - Trailer

by Rainier on March 30, 2020 @ 6:00 a.m. PDT

Neon Abyss is a roguelike that sees players delve into a vivid world of procedurally generated dungeons and frantic action, where choices made alter the ruleset of the game world.

Featuring unlimited item synergies and a unique dungeon evolution system, each run diversifies the experience and every choice alters the ruleset.

As they explore the underworld and face the modern gods of Neon Abyss players will craft their own upgrade path, changing multiple facets of the game’s experience including bosses, rulesets, items, and even access new endings. Each of the 400+ items found throughout the dungeons feature passive effects that can be stacked in different combinations, further changing the gameplay in the dynamically created environments. Dungeon rooms can also contain mini games, each with their own standalone mechanics, or eggs that hatch pets and help players with their own abilities.

Further customization is available through character costume changes, allowing players to style their underworld raider.

In addition to the previously announced Steam edition, Team17 and Veewo Games have announced that Neon Abyss will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch in 2020.

Interested fans can check out a demo for Neon Abyss on Steam.

The Neon Abyss timed demo allows players to drop into the heart of the vividly colored, procedurally-generated dungeons, and destroy the enemies and modern god-like bosses that plague it.

The length of the demo is determined by the difficulty level chosen by players, with 15 minutes of fast-paced action available to those selecting ‘easy’; 18 minutes for ‘medium’ difficulty players; or 24 minutes of gameplay for players looking to take on the abyssal atrocities in ‘hard’ difficulty.

Key Features:

  • Roguelite: Death is not the end. When players die, they come back more powerful than before, lasting longer with each incarnation
  • Pets: Hatch and evolve pets along your journey to give you additional firepower and perks
  • Unlimited item synergies: Random item drops throughout the levels will give players the chance to stack passive effects to devastating effect, and with an almost limitless number of combinations, every run will be unique
  • Mini-games: In-between slaying gods, mini-games such as piano performances, meditation challenges, dance competitions and more will give players the chance to not only kick back and relax for a second, but provide extra loot too
  • Action-packed, procedurally-generated roguelike
  • Collect more than 400 different items through the dungeons
  • Character customization

Neon Abyss is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
