'The Elder Scrolls Online' (ALL) Greymoor Prologue Quest, Free Play Event, 6th Anniversary Bonuses And More - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on March 30, 2020 @ 1:25 p.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.

Explore a rich, living world with friends or embark upon a solo adventure. Enjoy complete control over how your character looks and plays, from the weapons you wield to the skills you learn – the choices you make will shape your destiny. Welcome to a world without limits.

Battle, craft, steal, siege, or explore, and combine different types of armor, weapons, and abilities to create your own style of play. The choice is yours to make in a persistent, ever-growing Elder Scrolls world.

Discover the secrets of Tamriel as you set off to regain your lost soul and save the world from Oblivion. Experience any story in any part of the world, in whichever order you choose – with others or alone.

Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing.

Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created.  Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.

Greymoor brings players to Western Skyrim, the frozen homeland of the Nords, and the long-forgotten Blackreach cavern—expanded from what players originally explored in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim—to fight sinister monsters while unlocking the secret of the Dark Heart of Skyrim.

Now, experience a bite-sized portion of the Greymoor Chapter by participating in the free Greymoor Prologue quest, available to all players at 10:00AM EDT today!

  • This perilous journey takes players into the depths of Blackreach to confront the schemes of Skyrim’s nefarious Icereach Coven, and it progresses the year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline into the Greymoor Chapter. There are new collectible rewards up for grabs, too!
  • Once the Prologue is open, use the free Quest Starter, titled “Prologue Quest: The Coven Conspiracy”, from the in-game Crown Store. Players must then travel to the Fighter’s Guild in Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, or Vulkhel Guard (depending on their Alliance) and speak with fan favorite Lyris Titanborn to accept the first of two quests, titled “The Coven Conspiracy”.

Never played ESO? No problem! The ESO Free Play Event begins Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00AM EDT, and will run through Monday, April 13.

Yes, this also means anyone who downloads ESO will be able to play the Greymoor Prologue quest for free!

During this period, anyone on PC/Mac through the ESO Launcher, Xbox One (Xbox Live Gold required), and PlayStation 4 can download and play Base Game free and experience a world of adventure. Note: Steam’s Free Play Event will run from April 1-April 6.

To participate in the Free Play Event, players can visit our Free Play page and select their platform. This event gives players access to the ESO base game, which includes four of the game’s original classes, 23 massive unique zones, and an epic main storyline.

If players want to continue their adventures in Tamriel beyond the Free Play event, look no further than our April Sale, which features steep discounts on the Base Game (up to 60% off), Elsweyr Chapter (up to 70% off), and Crown Packs (up to 40% off). The exact details are available here (link will be live at 10 am ET).

ESO turns six years old this week! That means players can enjoy bonus XP, special rewards, and cake during our Anniversary Jubilee event! The in-game event begins Thursday, April 2 at 10:00AM EDT, and runs until Tuesday, April 14 at 10:00AM EDT.
