'Ys: Memories of Celceta' (ALL) Remastered Gets PS4 Date - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on April 30, 2020 @ 1:45 p.m. PDT

Ys: Memories of Celceta is an reimagining of Ys IV, which never to have made its way to the West, changing the framing of the story itself to create a more intriguing tale filled with mystery and distrust.

Remembering nothing but his name, Adol Christin awakens to find himself in the town of Casnan—a bustling frontier village at the edge of an endless sea of trees and untamed wilderness.

Bereft of past and purpose, he is left to wander the town until a mysterious information dealer named Duren who claims to know him joins Adol on a sudden mission to rid the local mine of monsters. This unexpected quest reawakens Adol’s instincts as an accomplished swordsman, and their exploits quickly attract the attention of Griselda, a Romun Army general stationed in the town. Impressed with their skills, she enlists the pair to assist in mapping the Great Forest of Celceta – a task many have attempted but from which none have ever returned alive. Far from the frontier’s edge, Adol and Duren must brave the dangers of Celceta while constantly keeping watch for any clues that may help Adol recover his lost memories.

More importantly, Adol must use his best judgment to decide who he can trust and who is taking advantage of his lost memories to deceive him...

Revisit the setting from the Japanese cult favorite Ys IV and explore the land and characters of Celceta in a whole new way with Ys: Memories of Celceta.

The PS4 remaster will support 60 FPS with full HD graphics and optimized controls to reproduce the touch screen functions of the “PS Vita” version. The company is also pleased to confirm that the PS4™ system version will support dual audio, allowing the game to be played with English voices or the original Japanese, and that this feature will be released as a free patch to the existing PC release in the near future.

The title is currently available for retail preorder of the physical day 1 “Timeless Adventurer Edition,” which includes a special soundtrack CD that was a part of the “Ys 25th Anniversary Pack” in Japan and 12 4” x 6” art cards highlighting various heroines from Ys lore, for a MSRP of $39.99 at the XSEED Games Store and participating retailers.

The game will also be available for purchase digitally at launch on the PlayStation Store for $29.99 as well as part of a digital deluxe edition for $39.99 which also includes a digital version of the special soundtrack CD and a never before released deluxe theme featuring artwork and music from the game. The "Original Theme" that accompanied the Japanese release will also be made available for free to everybody upon launch.

Explore one of the most expansive locales in the series’ history, complete with a robust and detailed mapping system that includes customizable waypoints to keep adventurers from losing themselves while unearthing the many secrets hidden within the wilderness. The now-familiar multi-character party system with real-time combat first introduced in Ys SEVEN makes a return in Ys: Memories of Celceta to deliver fast-paced yet strategic action punctuated with meaningful player choice. This PC release also features an enhanced take on fan-favorite Time Attack and Boss Rush modes, pitting Adol alone or as part of a full party of characters against an increasingly difficult lineup of bosses in a race against time – and against other Steam or GOG players, via newly added leaderboard support!

Currently available for PS Vita, PC (Steam), Ys: Memories of Celceta is coming to PS4 on June 9, 2020 for $29.99.
