Bubble Bobble is an iconic cult game and is considered the most popular and innovative platformer of the ’80s. The twins Bub and Bob set out to free their girlfriends from the hands of the nasty baron, who also enchanted them into bubble dragons. As such, the brothers hop through the differently arranged platforms of the 100 colourful levels and shoot bubbles at numerous enemies. In the '80s and '90s, players jumped solo or in two-player co-op mode through the levels. Bubble Bobble's success has seen it ported to more than 20 different platforms in recent decades, including the C64, Sega Mega Drive and NES Classic Mini.

One night, a child’s room became enfolded by a miraculous light and every object under its rays suddenly came to life - including the child's most favorite toy, the little dragon called Bub.

Full of jealousy, the wicked magician Baron von Blubba challenges the friendly dragon to battle.

The PS4 version will be greatly expanded with exciting new content (new stages and game modes), which will also be made available for the Nintendo Switch version, that is currently on sale. Already well-received around the world on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 gamers can experience the excitement of Bub and Bob later in the year. Also, the much-requested fan favourite villain Baron von Blubba will finally make its return.

To celebrate the upcoming release of the PS4 version, Taito and ININ Games are holding a fan art contest that is open to all Bubble Bobble fans! Gamers with artistic and creative skills, young and old, may enter the contest by following the entry guidelines and posting their artwork of the "Bubble Bobble" series on Twitter on the official Taito account @TaitoCorp in English ! The winners will be shown in the game credits with their fan art and a nickname.

Submit your creative artwork of Bubble Bobble before the application deadline of May 31st 2020 (Japan time). There will be 10 winners chosen after the contest ends.  

In the '80s and '90s, the players jumped through the levels either solo or in the two-player mode. In Bubble Bobble 4 Friends includes a 4-player co-op mode for even more fun with friends. Players can also acquire special skills by collecting letter bubbles that form the word "extend" to add strategic depth and increase replayability. Players will have plenty to discover and craft as they journey through the all-new worlds of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends includes the coin-op version of 1986's Bubble Bobble in arcade-perfect quality – this means besides the 100 stages in Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, there will be 100 more in the original Bubble Bobble to enjoy with original music, sound and visuals.

Currently available for Nintendo Switch, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is coming to PS4 in 2020.
