'Rising Hell' Early Access Update Adds New Character and More, Gets Free Prologue Level - Trailer

by Rainier on May 14, 2020 @ 12:00 a.m. PDT

Rising Hell is a metal-infused platformer that is guaranteed to quench your adrenaline thirst as you are thrown into the depths of fiery hell and slay all kinds of demons that dwell in it.

Accompanied by badass heavy metal riffs, create chaos and climb your way out from the underworld, roguelite-style.

In the randomly generated and ever-changing landscape of hell, you will encounter different creatures, bosses, and living traps lurking around. Fight your way through it all as you unlock new characters and talents. Chaining combos, jumping maneuvers, and talent building will be your key to triumph over the merciless hell.

If you are up for a more thrilling experience, Rising Hell also features challenge mode. In the early access version, there will be two modes that you can play. Who’s up to get locked in a room full of blood-lusting monsters, or to fight all the deadly bosses with limited health? You gotta beat the hell out of them before they get you! Furthermore, not just challenge mode, more worlds, and characters will also be added following the full release of the game.

Having the game launched through Steam Early Access ($9.99) in October 2019, the developers have added and tweaked several features such as talents to improve heroes’ abilities, artifacts as powerful but temporary power-ups, and relics that determine player’s playstyle before starting the game. Up to this day, there is a total of more than 50 talents and 20 relics in the game. Not only that, we also revamped the appearance of Arok, the first playable character after receiving suggestions from players.

Last but not least, the third character is now available to unlock! Each character in Rising Hell has their own fighting style. While Arok is a melee fighter, the second character, Zelos, is a long-range fighter. The new character, Sydna, is a short-range fighter with a unique mechanic. She hurls deadly Phantasmal orbs as her weapon. The orb attaches to nearby allies, dealing only a small amount of damage, but after a while or when enough orbs are attached to enemies, they explode, dealing massive area damage.

Rising Hell is getting more attention now with many online events happening lately, so Toge Productions, along with developer Tahoe Games, want to give a chance for more people to try the game by releasing a prologue level that is free to play on Steam. Jump into the first level of hell and create chaos in this adrenaline-pumping roguelite action platformer!

Key Features:

  • Vertical Rogue-lite: Climb out of the ever-changing procedurally generated hell while the ever-present threat of permadeath fills your veins with adrenaline.
  • Epic Boss Battles: Slay gigantic ancient demons such as the Eye of Sauron, Beelzebub, and many more.
  • Multiple Game Modes: Choose between campaign and challenge modes complete with its own leaderboards.
  • Unlockable Characters: Play and unlock different characters that will give you a variety of different playstyles and strategies

Rising Hell is in development for PC, scheduled to release in 2020.
