'School of Magic' Joining Steam Game Festival With Playable Demo

by Rainier on June 3, 2020 @ 11:05 a.m. PDT

School Of Magic is a hack and slay roguelike with a deck building leveling system where you combine spells, face reckless creatures and make wise choices on the way to passing the entrance exam.

School Of Magic combines the strategic Depths and replayability of the deckbuilding genre with the intense combat and atmosphere of an Isometric Action RPG.

You have decided to apply to the school of magic, but you can`t find the exit of the magical world the wizards have created as an entrance exam. It is almost as if they don`t want anyone to pass, but that is not going to stop you. You will try again and this time you will combine the right spells to overcome the challenges these old privileged wizards have put in place.

Deckbuilding is a pretty new video game mechanic and the current games have not been as immersive as your usual real-time games. I want to change that with School of Magic where you play a hack and slay roguelike but during the leveling process, you are creating your own unique build via the deckbuilding mechanic.

The Steam Game Festival will start on the 9th of June and School of Magic has a demo available to play.

Leveling in School of Magic means facing difficult decisions such as.

  • Do I need an AOE spell or should I restore some life now?
  • Should I wait for this spell to level up or will it be removed on my next level?
  • This ice spell is so awesome, but I already increased my fire damage, is it really worth it?

Besides leveling and killing monsters, you will meet weird characters like Madam Sasa a fortune teller that will help you get a glimpse of your future for a small price. If you are able to make the right decisions and find the exit of this magical world, you will fulfill your dream and become a real wizard.

School Of Magic is in development for PC (Steam) for 20,99€ / 24.99$
