'DIRT 5' (ALL) In-Game Soundtrack Revealed

by Rainier on Aug. 13, 2020 @ 8:09 a.m. PDT

DIRT 5 is a new heart-pounding off-road driving experience set against a sensory backdrop of vibrant visuals, an eclectic soundtrack, and dynamic weather conditions.

Fully optimized for all platforms, DIRT 5’s global journey takes in some of the most thrilling, exotic, and picturesque settings such as New York City and Rio de Janeiro alongside challenging events in remote areas of Greece and China. Players will experience the thrill of in-your-face extreme racing in a variety of vehicle classes from buggies, unlimited trucks, and rock bouncers to traditional and modern rally cars.

The expansive narrative-driven Career mode is bigger in every way with event types and challenges across some of the toughest terrain. Before hitting the track, get creative using the livery editor, with more customization options than any previous DIRT game. DIRT 5 features a non-linear progression path, so players can choose more of the events they want.

DIRT 5 heralds the return of split-screen for up to four players. The full list of game modes will be announced shortly, including a new game mode focused on creativity and designed for social couch play with friends or global online battles against the best racers in the DIRT universe.

Music has been a huge factor in previous DIRT titles, particularly DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 – games that we’ve specifically marked as inspirations for this latest entry in the series. Even when we revealed DIRT 5 to the world back in early-May, one of the most asked questions we received has been around the soundtrack. With all that in mind, we knew that music had to be a big focus for DIRT 5 – and it’s time to reveal all!

The DIRT 5 soundtrack brings you over 40 of the best and brightest sounds from multiple genres, from artists around the globe, making it a key part of DIRT 5’s overall style and vibe. Iconic rock acts such as The Killers and New Found Glory; hot new acts like Sports Team, The Mysterines and YUNGBLUD; club legends like The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy; all that and more has a spot in DIRT 5’s hand-picked, eclectic soundtrack.

In-game, this music will be the backdrop whenever you navigate through DIRT 5’s menus and race setups, and will naturally transition as you load into a race event. Once you’re racing, players will have multiple options for how to listen to the soundtrack. In the pause menu’s audio settings, choose ‘3D’ for the music to dynamically change as you race past speakers and points of interest along the track, or select ‘2D’ to have the music playing consistently through the race. There are, of course, options to adjust the volume levels, including switching the music off.
