Gears of War brings fast-paced brutal action to turn-based tactics.

Gears Tactics is set 12 years before the first Gears of War. Cities across the planet Sera are beginning to fall to the monstrous threat rising from underground – the Locust Horde.

In Gears Tactics, you’ll step into the boots of Gabe Diaz, voiced by Noshir Dala, as he recruits, equips, and commands his squad on a desperate mission to hunt down the relentless and powerful leader who fans will recognize from the Rise of RAAM comic in 2018 – Ukkon, a Locust geneticist who is responsible for the creation of the Locust army during the events of Gears of War. The evil genius responsible for the Brumak, Corpser and a few all-new enemies you’ll face in Gears Tactics, you’ll embark on a desperate mission to hunt down this powerful, relentless and evil mastermind.

Gears Tactics will arrive on Xbox consoles alongside the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S console launch on November 10 with an optimized experience to feature Smart Delivery and gameplay in 4K Ultra HD at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X.

Alongside the November 10 availability on Xbox consoles and with Xbox Game Pass, Gears Tactics is getting a major update that adds new features to all platforms:

• Jack joins the fight – Gears of War’s signature companion bot, Jack will join Gabe and the heroes of Gears Tactics as a new playable character. In Gears Tactics, Jack is a new hero that changes the dynamic of the encounters, with 20+ new skills ranging from empowering auras to hijacking and controlling enemy units.
• New powerful enemies – Deviant enemies are introduced in Gears Tactics, adding a new layer of challenge in the battles, with special abilities that will defy the players’ strategies.
• New Supreme equipment – The new Supreme equipment rewards players with powerful gear to play through the campaign, defying massive bosses and facing the new Deviant enemies.
• Enhanced controller support – Optimized experience for Xbox controllers on console and PC.

Additionally, for Gears Tactics and Gears of War fans, Microsoft has partnered with Controller Gear to develop the new Gears of War – Locust Horde Limited Edition Controller and Pro Charging Stand (both available for pre-order).

This officially licensed controller and stand set is compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 PCs and tablets via Bluetooth.

The aggressive gameplay of Gears Tactics retains a signature Gears tone and feel – you will command your squad in fast paced, turn-based battles, advancing and surviving intense and visceral encounters with the unstoppable, swarming Locust Horde enemy. Prepare yourself to take on and defeat towering deadly bosses that defy your strategies ad completely change the scale of the battle.

Featuring the deepest customization of any Gears game to date, players can express themselves, and their displeasure with the Locust with wild and crazy print, patterns and endless combinations, including a Leopard-print Lancer. Customizations apply to both weapons and armor and go even deeper with skill and class customizations for players to choose from. Everything in Gears Tactics is earnable though experience and unlockable in-game – there are no microtransactions or pay-to-win mechanics.

With the trademark executions of the Gears franchise making a return in Gears Tactics, satisfying finishing moves will allow you to add more action points to your turns and let players perform even more actions to capitalize on their free movement during combat.
