'The Elder Scrolls Online' (ALL) Markarth DLC Will Bring New Zone, In-game Events And More - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Sept. 19, 2020 @ 1:50 p.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.

Explore a rich, living world with friends or embark upon a solo adventure. Enjoy complete control over how your character looks and plays, from the weapons you wield to the skills you learn – the choices you make will shape your destiny. Welcome to a world without limits.

Battle, craft, steal, siege, or explore, and combine different types of armor, weapons, and abilities to create your own style of play. The choice is yours to make in a persistent, ever-growing Elder Scrolls world.

Discover the secrets of Tamriel as you set off to regain your lost soul and save the world from Oblivion. Experience any story in any part of the world, in whichever order you choose – with others or alone.

Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing.

Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created.  Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.

The Dark Heart of Skyrim epic concludes with The Elder Scrolls Online: Markarth.

Explore a dangerous new zone with the Reach, gather a band of unlikely allies, and confront a Vampire Lord and his ancient army. Markarth also introduces a new solo arena, Vateshran Hollows, designed to test the strength, wits, and resolve of players with challenging bosses, multiple unlockable paths, and powerful, hidden secrets.

Markarth will release on November 2 for PC, Mac, and Stadia and November 10 for PS4 and Xbox One, and it will be available free as part of an ESO Plus membership or available from the in-game Crown Store.

This new DLC will be coming to the Public Test Server this Monday, September 21, and we’ll be previewing more of Markarth in the weeks to come.

Markarth Prologue Quest Now Live

Players can begin the Markarth Prologue questline right now completely free! These quests will take players on an adventure that leads directly into the main storyline of the Markarth DLC and the conclusion to the year-long story.

To jump in, simply visit the in-game Crown Store and pick up the quest starter. Anyone who owns the ESO base-game can experience this new adventure for free.

Lost Treasures of Skyrim in-game event

Beginning next week, the Lost Treasures of Skyrim event challenges the ESO community to unlock three tiers of collectible rewards that include new cosmetics, a pet, a new house, and the first of a new type of collectible: houseguests.

Players unlock these rewards by digging up Tamriel’s lost treasures by using the Antiquities system. The more treasures players unearth, the quicker fellow Greymoor players will unlock the goods.

In addition to this challenge, the event also brings bonus rewards to all players who adventure and complete daily quests in Western Skyrim. For more on the Lost Treasures of Skyrim and these bonus rewards, check out our announcement article and web page.

Here’s the lineup and dates (note that some dates may shift) for all of the year’s remaining in-game events:

  • Lost Treasures of Skyrim (September 23 – October 5)
  • Witches Festival (October 22 – November 3)
  • Undaunted Celebration (November 25 – December 12)
  • New Life Festival (December 21 – January 2, 2021)

ESO’s annual end-of-year promotion: #TamrielTogether

Finally, we announced our end-of-year promotion, #TamrielTogether. This promotion will include an amazing sweepstakes to enter, a guild-based contest, and more, so keep an eye out on elderscrollsonline.com for more information in the coming weeks.

Greymoor brings players to Western Skyrim, the frozen homeland of the Nords, and the long-forgotten Blackreach cavern—expanded from what players originally explored in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim—to fight sinister monsters while unlocking the secret of the Dark Heart of Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor is the next Chapter of ZeniMax Online Studios’ online RPG. For the first time since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, players and their friends will return to the frozen tundra and snowy mountains of Western Skyrim, as well as venture underground into an even larger and more perilous Blackreach than ever before. While the Greymoor Chapter is one of The Elder Scrolls’ darkest stories yet, there are still heroes that spark hope: returning from the base game are Lyris Titanborn and House Ravenwatch who will take the fight to those that stalk the night.

The Greymoor Chapter features a gothic and gritty main story and side quests, harrowstorms (open world group events similar to Dark Anchors), a massive new 12-player trial Kyne's Aegis, the new Antiquities system (travel across Tamriel to recover lost artifacts and rare antiquities, unlocking powerful new gear and rewards for all types of players), public dungeons and delves, and much more. With around 30 hours of new story content to experience, The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor brings entirely new experiences toESO, presenting veterans and those new to the game with astounding new stories and content.

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, coming to Xbox Series X and PS5 at a later time.
