'R-Type Final 2' (ALL) Delayed Until Spring 2021

by Rainier on Sept. 23, 2020 @ 5:39 p.m. PDT

R-Type Final 2 is the latest title in the long-running, side-scrolling, shoot-'em-up series.

On April 1st, Japanese game studio, Granzella Inc. revealed that it would develop R-Type Final 2 for PS4, quickly dismissed by most people as an April Fools joke, but as it turns out, it was legit.

The R-Type series was created in 1987, and R-Type Final 2 will be the the latest title of the long-standing side-scrolling shooter game series.

In addition, the "Real-time Level Function" automatically adjusts the difficulty level according to players' skill and ability in shooter games. The difficulty level is displayed on the screen so that the players can check their scores in real-time. The higher the difficulty level, the more scores the player gets. Players who are not familiar with R-Type games can set a cap on the difficulty level to avoid gameplays that are too difficult and play according to their level.

The stages that appeared in the earlier work will come back with new expressions and interpretations.

R-Type Final 2 is being designed by Granzella's Kazuma Kujo, known for the Zettai Zetsumei Toshi (Disaster Report) series, Manga Kakeru, and City Shrouded in Shadow to name a few, and also designed the R-Type Delta, R-Type Final, and R-Type Tactics series.

R-Type Final 2 will be coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) in Spring 2021.
