'Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos' Gets Dated, Switch Demo, Pre-Orders - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 15, 2021 @ 11:50 a.m. PST

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos is an up-to-four-player, action role-playing game that blends roguelike gameplay with procedural dungeons and an expansive fantasy overworld.

Rogue Heroes features classic top down sword slashing combat with a large set of tools, spells, and weapons at your disposal. Fight through 5+ dungeons each with their own style, room layouts and unique dangers.

In addition to battling enemies across the major dungeons, Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos also features skill tree customization for characters, while village building gameplay mechanics provide townspeople with more services and houses to improve their lives.

Dungeons are procedurally generated to connect hand made rooms and mix up the layout so no two runs are the same. Keys, puzzles, and traps are mixed up, even within the rooms things won't always play out the same way. Combining randomization with hand placements gives replayability without the fallbacks of uninteresting design that can come from full random generation.

Play in solo or in coop with up to 4 players through the entire campaign beginning to end. Build up your village into a bustling community, take down the dungeons that threaten the outer areas and collect tools to open up your world. Max out your Hero and take them into the infinite dungeon to see how they stack up against a never ending onslaught of enemies, traps, and puzzles.

Team17 and Heliocentric Studios have launched a free demo for Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos on Nintendo Switch.

Set in the world of Tasos, which is under threat from the menace of conquering Titans, the demo introduces players to the mystical overworld and the first of the game’s puzzle-filled, procedurally-generated dungeons. Adventurers can play the demo solo or with up to three other heroes in local co-op multiplayer, with the full game taking the journey online for four players too.

Today also sees the start of pre-orders on Nintendo Switch for Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos, bringing an additional strategic option with the Bomber class, alongside exclusive weapon skins as well as furniture that players can use to accessorise their in-game home.

Fish, Fight, Farm, Build, Explore there's many things to do in Rogue Heroes all with their own progression that feeds into other activities and pursuits.
