'The Medium' (ALL) Shows Off Uncanny Facts, Easter Eggs, Gameplay Tips And More - Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 22, 2021 @ 12:16 a.m. PST

The Medium is a tension-fueled, psychological horror game built around a central motif: how your perspective changes your perception.

The Medium renders two fully-fledged and visually distinct worlds simultaneously with no loading screens. Having access to both worlds gives a unique perspective to the tension-fueled, psychological horror game as the dual-reality gameplay with this visual fidelity only being possible on next-gen hardware.

Players will find themselves in the body of Marianne, a medium hounded by visions, living and interacting across two worlds: the real, and the spirit world. Nothing is what it seems, everything has another side. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a wider perspective and can see more clearly that there’s no one simple truth to what others perceive.

Akira Yamaoka, of Silent Hill fame and Bloober Team’s Arkadiusz Reikowski are working together on the game’s original ‘dual’ score, creating truly unique atmospheres across both worlds.

The latest four-and-half-minute video showcases a variety of intriguing and uncanny facts along with easter eggs about The Medium that players may have never heard about - some of which includes first concepts of the game that started in 2012, or how the game’s setting at the abandoned Niwa Hotel is based on a real hotel in Bloober Team’s hometown in Kraków, Poland.

In addition, the video shares sneak peeks into some of the development hurdles that the team has endured during the pandemic, as well as useful gameplay tips and behind-the-scenes footage that haven’t been published before.

Preorders are now open  for Xbox Series consoles and PC platforms via Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store at the price of $49.99/€49.99/£41.74 with a 10% off discount before launch. The Medium will launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store) on January 28, 2021.
