'Fuser' (ALL) Gets Free Demo, Unveils Roadmap Featuring New Events, Co-op Improvements, DLC, and More

by Rainier on Jan. 27, 2021 @ 2:20 p.m. PST

Fuser is the next evolution of interactive music gaming, empowering players to perform and create sharable mixes for the masses as they play.

Fuser puts players in control of the music, where they can fuse together elements from hit songs by some of the world’s top artists, including Billie Eilish, The Chainsmokers, Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Migos, Post Malone, and many more.

Harmonix has been a pioneer of interactive music gaming for nearly 25 years, having created titles like Frequency and Amplitude as well as genre-defining, breakout hits like Rock Band and Dance Central. With Fuser, Harmonix will once again completely revolutionize the music game genre by providing an immersive music sandbox in which players are challenged to perform and create custom mixes from some of music’s biggest hits – no peripheral required.

Powered by Harmonix’s proprietary technology, Fuser will allow players to seamlessly blend vocals, bass lines, and other instrumentation from a multitude of different music genres and artists to define their own unique sound through seamless, innovative gameplay. Players will also be able to share their creations socially, making their game performances available for watching online.

The 1.3 update will arrive in the coming weeks and feature new modes, big changes, and quality of life improvements to the game.

Fuser is available now, and for players who haven’t taken the stage yet, a free demo is now available on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC (Steam).

Fuser Changes in the 1.3 Update include:

  • Live Set Events – These new events add a competitive flair to the recurring in-game events. Live Sets will present a challenge to all FUSER DJs, including leaderboards and prizes for reaching score tiers.
  • Customizing Freestyle Co-Op – Players will now be able to adjust the number of rounds and the length of rounds for public Co-Op Freestyle sessions.
  • Hot Clips – Hot Clips is a powerful new creative tool, which allows DJs to preview a disc before dropping it onto the decks, effectively adding a fifth loop to their mixes.
  • Finding the Right Mix – The update makes it easier to browse mixes players have liked through their profiles, as well as new sorting functions, including alphabetical, most liked/viewed, and date created.
  • Share with the World – This update adds several optimizations for sharing and streaming. Players can now share video from anywhere in the game using native console share functions, and DJs can now toggle an option to select only monetizable songs for streaming.
  • And More... – The 1.3 Update addresses bugs found by live players, adds in separate calibration profiles for docked and undocked mode for Nintendo Switch, UI improvements, and other quality of life improvements.

To go with these updates, players will also be able to find music by the following artists arriving as paid DLC in the coming weeks:

  • 24kGoldn
  • Bebe Rexha
  • Bell Biv DeVoe
  • BLACKPINK
  • DaBaby
  • David Guetta
  • Doja Cat
  • Dua Lipa
  • iann dior
  • Imanbek
  • Jason Derulo
  • Marshmello
  • Shaggy
  • Shawn Mendes
  • Sia
  • Usher
  • And More!

While those changes are arriving to Fuser soon, a free, playable demo of Fuser is available on consoles and PC right now, walkings players through core gameplay, using these eight tracks:

  • Bad Bunny “Yo Perreo Sola”
  • Billie Eilish “bad guy”
  • Cardi B “Bodak Yellow”
  • deadmau5 ft. Rob Swire “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff”
  • Dua Lipa “Don’t Start Now”
  • Rage Against The Machine “Killing In The Name”
  • Smash Mouth “All Star”
  • Warren G and Nate Dogg “Regulate”

With more than 100 songs to be included in the game, this is the first partial list of songs available for users to play with; attendees at PAX East in Boston will be the first to try a Fuser demo. The final track listing will feature songs from the world’s top artists in pop, rap/hip-hop, R&B, dance, rock, country, Latin and Caribbean music.

Fuser is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC for $59.99
