In a monumental crossover of Sea of Thieves and Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew arrive in Season Three to spark a new adventure on the Sea of Thieves.
Unfolding across five incredible tales packed with secrets and side-quests, this new campaign gives players a lovingly crafted story to play solo or with their crew.
Players will go on a quest to free Jack Sparrow from his prison and witness the power of the world's greatest pirate treasure, which Jack happens to have stolen. Jack is being pursued by his old enemy, the notorious Davy Jones, and their arrival on the Sea of Thieves will ultimately spell disaster if Jones and his forces aren't stopped.
These iconic characters are much more than cameo appearances, and the developers have crafted a compelling original narrative that explores what makes each world special.
New adventures bring new environments and challenges. As the story progresses, players will battle Davy Jones alongside Captain Jack Sparrow and have the chance to explore memorable locations from both universes – not only extending to Sea of Thieves and Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise but the famous park attractions that have been thrilling people for decades.
The pirate ranks of the Sea of Thieves continue to swell, as Microsoft & Rare are happy to announce that they’ve reached the auspicious milestone of 25 million players!
With the introduction of Seasons earlier this year, and our epic crossover with Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, the game has seen a huge influx of players casting off for the first time and enjoying all the new features and content.
We’re going to need a bigger boat…
With so many sailors heading out for the first time, and well over a year gone by since we outlined 38 Things Added to Sea of Thieves Since Launch, we want to mark the 25 million player milestone by showcasing 25 new features we’ve introduced since then. As an extra celebration, anyone who plays Sea of Thieves between October 19th (3pm BST) and October 26th (3pm BST) will receive a special login bonus of 25,000 gold and 25 Doubloons. On top of that, one randomly picked pirate who hands in treasure during this period will earn a payout of 25 million in gold!
Now let’s list our 25 things to try – and don’t worry if you’re yet to set sail on the Sea of Thieves or it’s been a while since you were out on the waves, as all major content updates have been added for free so you can jump in and enjoy the experience right away!
Players will face grave danger from deadly new enemies wherever they sail. Terrifying Phantoms will require swift reflexes to deal with, while Sirens swarm beneath the waves and wield devastating new weapons of their own. Even the decks of ships might not be safe if there are lumbering Ocean Crawlers around, and these new threats will be appearing all around the Sea of Thieves in future updates, not just during players' adventures with Jack Sparrow!
The Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life update is the cornerstone of Season Three, now available and free for all players who have purchased the game on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC, or have access to it via Xbox Games Pass.
