Tetris 99 features online competitive modes exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members. Owners of the digital version of the game can purchase the optional Big Block DLC, which adds several offline modes, like CPU Battle and Local Arena.

With the Tetris 99 game on the Nintendo Switch system, you’ve got the chance to conquer a fearsome challenge and bring back the spoils of battle – an in-game theme based on the Monster Hunter Rise game! To prevail, you’ll need to react quickly and flip those Tetriminos across the screen faster than a Wirebug zips hunters across Kamura Village.

The Tetris 99 25th Maximus Cup event runs from 12 a.m. PT on Oct. 8 to 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 11. To participate, Nintendo Switch Online members just need to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match. Once players have accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by Monster Hunter Rise.

For many Tetris 99 players, you’ve returned to the field of battle many times, with notches on your belt from several of your previous skirmishes. For others, perhaps you’re considering joining your first hunt for glory.
