As new recruits of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, players will investigate the chaotic magical activity that is leaking into the Muggle world and work together to solve the mystery of this Calamity. Players will be able to explore their real-world neighborhoods and cities to discover mysterious artifacts, cast spells, and encounter fantastic beasts and iconic characters along the way.
Niantic Explorers,
We launched Harry Potter: Wizards Unite more than two years ago, bringing together a community of witches and wizards from all over the globe in an epic quest to put an end to the Calamity and keep the wizarding world safe. In the coming months, we’ll be concluding the story and closing the game on January 31st, 2022.
Not all games are meant to last forever. Our goal with Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was to bring the magic of the wizarding world to life for millions of players as they stepped outside and explored their neighborhoods. We accomplished that together, delivering a two-year narrative story arc that will soon complete.
Looking ahead, the power of AR allows us to layer many magical worlds on top of the real world, and there is so much potential out there that we’ve yet to explore. We recently launched Pikmin Bloom, and are hard at work making Transformers: Heavy Metal, where you’ll be able to battle giant robots in AR. With nine games and apps in our development pipeline, some of which will go into soft launch in 2022, there are many more amazing worlds that we want to bring to life in new and unique ways.
Our goal is to deliver the best experiences to you, our players, based on our pillars of exploration, exercise and real world social interaction. We’ll take all of the learnings from Harry Potter: Wizards Unite into our other projects.
Thank you to our extraordinary community of witches and wizards for joining us on this journey. We have had so much fun exploring with you over the last two years, and we hope to see you adventuring with us in some of our other games soon!
