'We Were Here' (ALL) Free On PS4, Complete Series End Of This Month - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 9, 2021 @ 1:11 a.m. PST

We Were Here is a series of cooperative standalone puzzle adventures games.

Lost in a frozen wasteland and split up from your partner inside an abandoned castle, the only possession you have left is a walkie-talkie with a familiar voice on the other end. Can the two of you find your way out in time?

Two players are trapped inside an abandoned castle, with Player One confined to a small secluded part of the castle as Player Two roams the halls trying to find Player One. Every room challenges your wits and ability to communicate clearly, using only your voice.

Are you ready to find out how well you and your friends work together? If you like living on the edge, try playing it with a complete stranger!

Whether or not you’ve played a We Were Here game before, you can dive right into any We Were Here title and start unravelling the secrets of Castle Rock, the sinister fortress at the heart of the series. Players take the role of Antarctic explorers confronted by this mysterious castle in the middle of the frozen wastes. Forced inside by a terrible blizzard, it quickly becomes clear that this is no ordinary ruin… and that there is no ordinary way out.

The first game in the We Were Here series of co-op puzzle adventure series is free now on PlayStation!

Share an unforgettable adventure online with a friend, partner or loved one you’ve been separated from during the pandemic.

We Were Here Too and We Were Here Together will be available separately or as a complete bundle along with We Were Here. They are standalone titles which can be played in any order but share a mysterious narrative. Grab We Were Here for FREE before Feb. 23, 2021, and prepare for an adventurous month with much more to discover.

The We Were Here games are all about cooperative puzzle solving through communication and observation. You will have to talk and work together with your partner to progress - even more so when you find yourselves trapped and split up inside the sinister Castle Rock. This constant interaction makes We Were Here a bonding experience – you’ll need to think along with your partner and get on the same page if you want to escape.

Managing Director Lucia de Visser says: “We’ve seen time and time again that our games bring people together. Whether it’s old friends playing online, romantic partners gaming together, or even strangers meeting online or at conventions, We Were Here connects people. Especially these days with Covid-19 forcing separation and isolation, spending time together to explore, solve puzzles, and just… connect, can be uplifting. That’s why we’re so glad that we can offer the first We Were Here for free to everyone on PlayStation. Millions of people have enjoyed the We Were Here Series to date, and we hope that many more will be able to find some joy and a moment of togetherness in the halls of Castle Rock in the midst of the pandemic.

Each player has to explore different areas, and every puzzle requires teamwork to solve. Asymmetric puzzles give each partner different information, and challenge players to talk to each other and figure out exactly what information they have and how it might lead to a solution. You and your partner have nothing but your wits, a walkie-talkie each, and whatever you can find on your way.

Key Features:

  • Two player cooperative online adventure - featuring in-game walkie-talkies
  • Overcome challenging puzzles through communication and cooperation
  • Atmospheric thriller setting that will keep you on the edge of your seat
  • Explore intriguing frozen environments - search for clues in the dark halls of the sinister Castle Rock and the icy wastes of Antarctica

We Were Here is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC (Steam).
