'The Dark Pictures Anthology' (ALL) Ep. 2 Gets Friend's Pass And Curator's Cut - Trailer

by Rainier on March 2, 2021 @ 9:37 a.m. PST

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of stand-alone, cinematic horror games, designed to present a new terrifying experience on a regular basis.

Each game is unconnected and will feature a brand new story, setting and new cast of characters.

Trapped and isolated in the abandoned town of Little Hope,  four college students and their professor must escape the nightmarish visions that relentlessly pursue them through an impenetrable fog.

As they journey through the town looking for a means of escape, they must understand the meaning of these events, the root of the evil, and how it is directly connected to them!

Starting today, all existing owners of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will gain access to a free Friend’s Pass (both players must be playing on the same platform) – allowing players to experience one full playthrough of the game via Multiplayer Shared Story mode with a friend that does not own the game.

Along with this Friend’s Pass, the Curator’s Cut is making its way to everyone, allowing players to get a fresh perspective with new and exclusive scenes following their initial playthrough. On top of this in-game content, players can also access the game’s soundtrack from today on all major streaming platforms.

Who doesn’t like to feel a little spine tingle, a hint of the chills, or maybe some goosebumps as we watch or listen to a ghastly story? Well, if you’re looking for these sensations and more, your wait will end soon as the next chapter of TheDark Pictures Anthology series,The Dark Pictures: Little Hope.

In Little Hope, abandoned and all alone, four college students and their professor are trapped by a mysterious fog in the isolated eponym town. They search desperately for a means of escape while visions from the town’s occult-steeped past haunt them from the shadows. In order to stay alive, they must uncover the mysteries behind these relentlessly-pursuing dark apparitions before evil forces drag each of their souls to hell!

Players can take the role of each of the five protagonists of this brand-new cast, one of them being represented by actor Will Poulter (Midsommar, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch). Similar to the first game, Man of Medan, Little Hope is designed to be replayable with multiple storylines, paths, and endings. Each decision will matter and can have repercussions on who survives or meets their demise!

The Curator, the omniscient figure voiced by actor Pip Torrens which overarches the series, will be back to witness the progress of players, giving them an occasional “hint” if they wish. The Shared Story mode and the Movie Night mode, enabling multiple players to share their story online or offline, will also return alongside the standard Theatrical Cut and the Curator’s Cut.

Each of The Dark Pictures features two multiplayer modes: “Shared Story” – share  your story and play with a friend online and “Movie Night” where you can play with up to 5 players in an offline pass-the-pad mode.

Players will be challenged to explore the world and uncover each story with the knowledge that all their choices have consequences, characters can live or die – will you make it to the end with all of them!

The Dark Pictures Anthology's 3rd installment, House of Ashes, launching on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) in 2021.
