In the chivalric world of medieval nobility, knights are eager to win the favor of their feudal lords. Jousting has gone out of style, though, and warriors have found new ways to display their valor. To capture the court’s attention, armored champions stride into gladiatorial contests brandishing magical spell books, exotic weapons like boomerangs, and even… bazookas?
Join the fray with up to eight players and duke it out across more than 13 competitive modes. Fight to become the last one standing in free-for-all events such as Battle Royale or squad up to take on all comers in old favorites like Capture the Flag and new game types including Payload, which sees teams clash in an explosive tug of war to deliver powder kegs to the enemy base, and Minion Master, where rivals raise armies to besiege and topple opposing fortresses.
No matter the arena, the knights always wield a wild arsenal of weapons and powerups, ranging from traditional medieval arms to more absurd ones like ghosts, land mines, and laser guns. Knight Squad 2’s over-the-top action brings a signature element to the table, transforming even the likes of Soccer into a full contact combat sport and emblazoning an element of turbulent fun onto an accessible, simple-to-understand experience that brings people together.
“Today is a huge day for us!” said Laurent Mercure, Communications Officer, Chainsawesome Games. “Not only are we announcing the game for Nintendo Switch and revealing our release date of April 14, but we’re launching our free preview version, Knight Squad 2 Trials, on Steam. So join us for some Battle Royale action today while we gear up for next month!”
A training ground to prepare for the full release, Knight Squad 2 Trials provides squires a place to hone their chivalric skills in Battle Royale mode. Clash with other competitors wielding authentic medieval armaments, including laser guns, boomerangs, and proximity mines until only one warrior remains standing. Trials will also allow participants to join lobbies made by players in the full game and get a taste of all the action on offer in Knight Squad 2.
The full Knight Squad 2 experience sports more than 13 competitive multiplayer modes for up to eight players. Fight in a free-for-all foray to gain control of a massive weapon and unleash its devastating power in Juggernaut mode. Team up in Painter, a graffiti turf war where the aim is to color coat more of the arena than opponents before the clock runs out. Then, for a classic bit of fun, unwind with a leisurely match of Soccer while dodging bazooka rockets, oncoming arrow fire, and whatever else the other side can muster while chasing down the ball.
Knight Squad 2 will feature local multiplayer as well as cross-platform online play.
Knight Squad 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One (Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility) and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on April 14, 2021.
