'Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid' (ALL) Super Edition, Street Fighter Pack Coming Next Month - Trailer

by Rainier on April 14, 2021 @ 10:13 a.m. PDT

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is a cross-platform fighting game with a modern take on the 25 year franchise, pitting current and classic Rangers and villains like never before in team battles.

Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid  is an easy to learn but hard to master fighting game that delivers a modern take on the Power Rangers franchise. The game features stunning graphics with vivid details and pits new and classic Rangers and villains against each other in team battles. Featuring a streamlined combat system, the game welcomes newcomers to the genre with simplified controls, while maintaining depth and detail for more intense and experienced competitors. Players will be challenged to test their skills online against friends and other players around the world, providing endless replayability. With new content and game modes releasing throughout the year, the game will continuously offer the community new ways to play and compete.

The game’s story and combat voiceovers are performed by original Power Rangers cast members, including Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott), David J. Fielding (Zordon), Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar) and Meghan “Strawburry17” Camarena (Kimberly).

Players on PC can battle against players on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in Ranked, Casual or Direct Matches. Crossplay helps players find matches faster against similarly skilled players and opens up a larger matchmaking pool, making the game more competitive. The game also offers cross-progression among PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, so players can carry progress made on one platform to another. Crossplay and cross-progression are enabled by nWayPlay, which offers a player ID and social system, allowing friends to find each other across platforms.

Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid is having a morphinomimal cross-over with none other than Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise in the upcoming Street Fighter Pack and the brand new Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid - Super Edition, created with their partners at Hasbro and Lionsgate. You’re going to see Ryu and Chun-Li morphing into Power Rangers to duke it out against the roster of fan-favorite Power Rangers and villains.

Lord Zedd has weakened the Morphin Grid and is starting to break down the walls between realities. Ryu finds himself transported to the world of the Rangers where he acquires a Power Coin and takes on the mantle of the Crimson Hawk Ranger. Ryu brings to the battle his trademark stoic, reserved poise and a lifetime of Shotokan training. His fluid, almost water-like fighting style is deadly at both range and up close, with his moves executed using classic, genre-defining input commands. Keep opponents on their toes from a distance with classic Hadouken, or punish aggressive play up close with his Tastumaki Senpukyaku or iconic Shoryuken.

The Street Fighter Pack featuring Ryu and Chun-Li will be available on May 25 for $12.50 across PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia. Players can also buy each character individually for $5.99. The Street Fighter Pack will contain:

  • Ryu, Crimson Hawk Ranger
  • Chun-Li, Blue Phoenix Ranger
  • Exclusive skins to be revealed at a later date!

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid - Super Edition, is a collection of all the game’s DLCs released thus far, plus the  newly announced Street Fighter Pack, along with some exclusive items available only in this very special edition.
