'Samurai Gunn 2' (ALL) Comes To Steam Early Access This Summer - Trailer

by Rainier on April 26, 2021 @ 1:55 p.m. PDT

Samurai Gunn 2 is a lightning-fast Bushido brawler/fighting game where players can explore a medieval metropolis on the brink of crisis to discover the mystery behind Gunn City’s ghostly threat.

In Samurai Gunn 2, a mad emperor pushes to expand the city at a ridiculous pace, while an epidemic of gunpowder overdoses is on the rise, and old spirits are creeping back into the world. A princess, a golem, a samurai knight, and a homeless girl all have a part in rewriting the fate of Gunn City forever.

Samurai Gunn 2 will feature a new, expansive adventure mode and an updated versus mode. Players will venture with a friend through a medieval metropolis on the brink of crisis, armed with only a sword, a  gunn, and three bullets per life. They’ll have to fight or fly past their foes to discover the mystery behind Gunn City’s ghostly threat... or battle together with a group of two to four friends in versus mode with improved controls, new levels and new characters. Every decision matters, since one hit is all that separates victory from defeat.

The original Samurai Gunn was prized for its simplicity and depth. Samurai Gunn 2 expands on that depth with a new mechanic that makes every encounter even more exciting. Crush a bullet between your teeth to send yourself flying in a plume of smoke.

Samurai Gunn 2 will feature Trigger Soul, a full-length graphic novel by acclaimed French comic creator Valentin Seiche in collaboration with PEOW Studio. It will also feature a new soundtrack composed by legendary rapper/producer/poet Adam "Doseone" Drucker (Samurai Gunn, Enter the Gungeon, Gang Beasts).

Announced in 2018, and not heard of since, Samurai Gunn 2 resurfaces later this summer when it will be available through Steam Early Access.

“We plan to continue updating Samurai Gunn 2 in Early Access until we finish Adventure Mode, finish the Comic, and expand Versus mode with lots of new characters and levels. We expect this to take about a year or so, but it may take longer depending on player feedback and any additional content ideas that we come up with.”

“All three modes of the game (Adventure, Versus, and Comic) are implemented with Online and Local play (even the Comic!). Currently there are 8 playable characters including 2 ‘Friends’, 9 VS levels, the first quarter of Adventure with 21 levels, and the first of 6 Comic chapters.”

“The full version of the game is planned to have many more playable characters (both Samurai Gunn characters and 'Friends" characters), more versus levels, a completed Adventure mode with 4 worlds, and the completed Comic.”
