Arc System Works revealed that the release version of Guilty Gear -Strive- will use rollback netcode for online play. Please note that the rollback implementation is still being developed so the upcoming closed beta will be using a delay-based implementation.
Arc System Works announced that the Guilty Gear -Strive- Open Beta Test #2 (OBT2) will be available on PS4 and PS5 from 8:00pm PST on May 13th to 7:59am PST on May 16th.
Game data will be downloadable at 8:00am PST on May 7th. Anji and I-NO will now be playable along with all characters from the initial roster, and features the English voice cast.
Available Modes:
- Versus – Play against the CPU or another player.
- Tutorial – Learn the basics of gameplay.
- Training – Practice with custom settings.
- Network – Play against others from across the globe. Player Matches (player created rooms) will not be available during the beta test.
For those who have the previous Open Beta Test client, it will be updated to the Open Beta Test #2 client. You do not need to download the new client.
Cross-play is available between PS4 and PS5 (PlayStation Plus is not required), but an online connection is required to play offline modes.
Pre-orders for the game are available on the PlayStation Store and on PC. Owners of the PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
Early Access will have 13 out of 15 characters playable. For the Story mode, only the prologue will be available before the release. During the Early Access, online modes will not be available.
The latest chapter in the Guilty Gear franchise will finally land in the hands of fighting game fans on June 11, 2021 for the PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam) for $59.99, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition available on June 8, 2021.
