Calling all veteran Vault Hunters! Tomorrow, May 13, a brand new series of limited-time mini-events kicks off in Borderlands 3. The True Trials mini-events create all-new challenges for battle-tested players by buffing the final bosses in Proving Grounds maps, drastically increasing their damage and health. Those who manage to best a True Trial will receive incredible rewards.
Every Thursday for the next six weeks, one Proving Grounds trial will be temporarily turned into a True Trial. Those who succeed in taking down its buffed-up boss will receive one of two Legendary items handpicked by the Borderlands 3 development team. The rewards will change from week to week but will always include one weapon selected from the base game's loot pool and another from one of Borderlands 3's six add-ons. To equip loot that originated in an add-on, you’ll need to own the corresponding add-on. In addition, the chest at the end of each week's True Trial will be full of Legendary items, regardless of how quickly you completed it or how many objectives you scored.
The first trial – True Trial of Survival – kicks off tomorrow at 9:00 AM PT in Devil’s Razor (Pandora), with The Lob and Lucky 7 up for grabs as rewards. Additional details about subsequent True Trials will be added each week to the game's official website.
All of this leads up to the next big seasonal event in The Revengence of Revenge of the Cartels, where you’ll get another chance to thwart Joey Ultraviolet and his gangs of loyal goons at the lavish Villa Ultraviolet hideout. It’s one of many exciting updates coming on June 24, so be sure to check back for more information as we get closer to the big day.
