'Warhammer: Vermintide 2' (ALL) Chaos Wastes Expansion Comes To PS4/Xbox One In June

by Rainier on May 5, 2021 @ 4:43 a.m. PDT

In Warhammer: Vermintide 2 it’s time for players to return to the first-person co-op experience with intense melee action.

Set in the dark and grim Warhammer Fantasy world, you must join forces with up to three other players to tackle the endless hordes of enemies. Equipped with a variety of melee and ranged weapons, you and your team are all that stands between utter defeat and victory - and if you fall so will the Empire.

Vermintide 2 is a melee action game pushing the boundaries of the first person co-op genre. The game introduces the dark, bloody and twisted Chaos as an enemy faction.

Other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System.

PS4 and Xbox One players’ journey towards the Citadel of Eternity will begin in June and will be free for all owners of Vermintide 2.

In Chaos Wastes, the players will -try- to reach the Citadel of Eternity, but only the pure at heart will be able to complete the journey. In order to survive the journey to the Citadel the heroes will have to leave their fancy and hard-earned armor behind and go back to the basics. The journey begins where it all began over three years ago, and armed only with simple equipment that will require skills to use effectively rather than just hiding behind a maxed out Iron Breaker (yes, talking to you, you know who you are!).

The trek can only be completed by a true pilgrim to navigate through to the unpredictable region without a map and where no journey is the same. The Citadel of Eternity is a place most have only heard of through rumors. It is said to be located in a region under the influence of the Chaos Gods and apparently Saltzpyre knows how to get there - or so he claims.

Chaos Wastes includes the Twitch Integration - the streamer's favorite game mode - which lets the audience join in on the adventure and help the players on their journey by voting on what will happen next.

The new Vermintide 2 expansion, Chaos Wastes, has been highly successful and brought the highest number of players since the launch back in 2018.

Key Features:

  • Ruthless 4 Player Co-operative Experience: The combined forces of Chaos and Skaven are merciless, and it will require a co-ordinated team effort to survive their never-ending onslaught.
  • 5 Heroes with 15 Career Paths: Choose between 15 unique careers, each with different appearances, abilities, talents and weapon arsenals to best suit your preferred combat style.
  • Chaos and Skaven Working Together: Skaven and Chaos armies have formed a pact to plunge the world into death and decay, with horrifying specials and bosses.
  • Talent Trees & Progression: Level up, choose between specialized talents for your hero, and excel throughout the game.
  • The Adventure Continues: Explore a wide range of breathtaking new levels set in and around Helmgart, a fortress city protecting the Bretonnian border of the Empire.
  • New Improved Loot System: Be rewarded with relevant loot for the chosen career at the end of each successful mission.
  • Fight Overwhelming Enemy Hordes: Skaven prefer strength in numbers, and with the Chaos at their side the heroes must be prepared to overcome unimaginable odds.
  • Twitch Integration: More information about the Twitch Integration will be presented via a live stream in December.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently available for PC (Steam), Xbox One and PS4.
